I've had it since I was 12 (from fireworks on 4th of July 1978).
When I was younger it nearly drove me crazy at times.
But the last 20 years or so I have been OK with it.
I sometimes hear it when I dream, if you can believe that.
I put cotton in my ears when I expect loud noises.
Even did that at a Rolling Stones concert.
PS.
Last thing I heard just now was a car horn beeping
