Hey all,

I am looking to make friends and have conversations with like-minded individuals. 42, 3 children, one failed marriage, one failing relationship, finishing an NHS degree apprenticeship, and working full time throughout. I am completely exhausted and feel alienated from people having put all my efforts into my degree and relationship, which both will end soon. Any person looking for a friendly chat about absolutely anything more than welcome to get in touch! I need to get out there again and remind myself what makes me smile! Feel free to PM me.

I want to believe, im slightly psychic, or have extremely good intuition... I'd like to think there's more to life and death, but never experienced it myself! Have you?

I believe in absolutely everything at this point

Spirits, cryptids, other realms/dimensions. I had a spiritual awakening 5-ish years ago, and the knowledge that I've gathered since then tells me that there's infinitely more to existence than human "mass consensus agreed upon" science allows us to believe

I know that everybody has psychic abilities, it's just that some are considerably more open and in-tune than others. I myself am not very open, I'm afraid

I would like to be a little bit more, but overall I'm glad I don't have full-blown abilities going like mediumship, because that one is scary to me

@147 I'm a skeptic, but could you elaborate on this spiritual awakening? Even I enjoy horror movies or novels, but don't believe ghosts actually exist; I'm curious to know

I can, just not today. I'm having an absolutely miserable day

Just a word though, my spiritual awakening story does not outright have anything to do with the paranormal; it just opened up my understanding that all of those things that human science ridicules, actually exist.
So, I don't know if you were asking specifically in regards to the paranormal, because I may not have much of value to add to that. If you're asking about the pure spiritual aspect, that one I can elaborate on some other time

Just let me know if that's what you meant or not.

Welcome @rememberme . The work done by people of the NHS is nothing short of amazing. Although exhausting, it must be very fulfilling given how meaningful it is. Much more so than my WFH desk-job at least

I lean heavily towards the rational, skeptical, materialist, "everything can be explained through science" side.
It's not so much by choice as it is, that's what makes sense to me, that's what I feel is most likely to be true.
That's how I can see things working.

I would like very much to see things your way, though. If only I knew how, if only I could convince myself.
It seems much more interesting, and I'd like to believe there's more to life than just what science can explain.

Well....... I don't know if it's allowed on this forum to publically discuss such matters, therefore I would get back to you in a private message. I've been lazy about that the past 3 weeks because I've had a bit of a breakdown, it's been mentally and emotionally very hard, but I can certainly try to write to you soon

It's really not so much about "convincing yourself" of anything. I can tell from your words that, regardless of what your current belief system says, there is a huge willingless to be open towards all kinds of other things. That alone is enough to promote you on that way. I do believe, very deeply, that whatever expansion (in clarity, in understanding, in what you accept to be true about reality) is MEANT for you in this life, is going to come to you no matter what. And you're not going to have to do any convincing yourself. You will hear (or see) something expressed in a certain way that is just going to completely resonate, 100%, from one second to the next. You will accept it as truth because your entire being is going to know it is the truth. Don't stress about it. I wasn't looking for awakening of any kind back when it happened. I ended up watching a specific video on Youtube, and bam! My inner world has never been the same since.
