I have recently gotten into reading more nonfiction, and reading books by women I admire and feel like I can relate too. For instance, I love Tina Fey, and last year I read her book Bossypants. It was perfect for where I was in my life. Being a teacher, sometimes it feels like I am putting on a show 6 times day for 45 mins. I could relate to her SNL writing days and insecurities, with my own "performances" and it really got me through the year.

I recently bought Amy Poehler's Book, Yes Please. I was having problems relating too it in the beginning (she talks about giving birth and being a mom, and I'm not there), but I just read the most amazing chapter ever. She talks about shame and guilt, which is something I struggle with all the time. She talks about her guilt of a certain skit, and how it ate at her for 5 YEARS! She ended this chapter with great advice to fix those bad feelings, and I am inspired to try to change so that I don't get eaten away by my guilt and shame feelings.

I haven't read the entire book yet, but I am starting her chapter on divorce, which I have not experience, but I'm sure I can relate to the "breaking up" part.

Just thought I would share, and if anyone had a book they knew of in this genre, I would love suggestions for my next read.
