When I am dead, and over me bright April
Shakes out her rain drenched hair,
Tho you should lean above me broken hearted,
I shall not care.
For I shall have peace.
As leafey trees are peaceful
When rain bends down the bough.
And I shall be more silent and cold hearted
Than you are now.
(Suicide note to her lover who left her.)
(This is a note of suicide from some one who killed herself because her lover left her heartbroken,)

I read somewhere that april has the highest rate of suicides in the year

:(

*hugs*

There's more to it. It's written by Sara Teasdale. She was a poet who lived before 100 years. Many people think that the poem was her suicide note but it was actually published many years before she committed suicide.

If he left her, I doubt he'll be broken-hearted that she offed herself.

Seriously though, I love Teasdale. She makes apathy sound heart-breakingly beautiful.
