I like the last one but not fussed about the rest. It was cloudy and there were only a few trains to go places. (They were working on a bridge)
Hopefully the sun will be out next week and I can get somewhere interesting !

Those are absolutely beautiful and so fascinating. You always know the best places to go. The candid one of the laid back bovine fellow crossing the road lends a relaxing contrast to the strong structure of (I'm assuming) Beverley Minster.

I just visited Wiki and oh my, what a rich history the area has! One could spend a week or more there just touring. Imagine being able to go back in time and seeing the area through the eyes of the townspeople or the Vikings.

Do you happen to know what that tall black castle-looking thing might be?

Great clear shots! Love these, TB!

The black thing is called 'Black Mill' and was built in 1803.

This is another photo. It's called North Bar. The last one left standing. I think they were built in the 1400's to protect the town.

Thanks for your kind words. Yes the history is fascinating. So many things to learn.
I was in York early on in the year on this boat and the tour guide said you could get from York to London by river but it takes 3 weeks. I was also on this boat in Scarborough and the guy said it was used in at Dunkirk in WW2.

Yes great history all around us ! :)

Wow, how neat about the boat you were on! I'll bet it was very well made in it's day.

3 weeks for the journey from York to London by river--just think of all the adventures one could have!

You captured the detail in the architecture of this last picture magnificently. Look how beautiful that old building is. It's easy to tell much care went into building it. These are all just excellent. Thank you for letting us enjoy them with you, TB.
