Imagine, if you will, nothing. Close your eyes. You see nothing but darkness. But wait, there is something after all. A flutter, a flash, just a little sparkle of some light. No...it's there for sure now. You see it. A small circle of white light threatens the darkness. Is it white? No it's blue! Wait...purple. Could it be every color? Yet the light is now flickering. Is it going out? Flash. flash..flash..... flicker... It fades...fading away back into nothing.
But there...it's back. Multi-colored light flows through the portal of white. It appears as a liquid, living creature of color. Everything you see before you swirls together, in a very large swirl of white, blue, purple, red and orange color. It's swirling outward and slowly growing.
Flicker. What's this now? The circular river of living color now swirls in reverse. It's collapsing upon itself. You feel somewhat dizzy. No longer do you see nothing but blackness. You're in a field of flowers. The most brilliant, exuberant, colorful flowers you've ever seen. Rays of sunshine are visible in the sky. You must touch the flower. You have to see if it feels as good as it looks. Your fingertips almost reach it and then! The flower flies away!
Do flowers have wings? All of these flowers have wings! But...well they're not flowers at all! It's a field of butterflies! Yes it all makes sense now. One last look at what you thought was a field of flow...they're all off! At once they all take flight and wisk away into the air. They're far too numerous to count; there must be hundreds, thousands, hundreds of thousands! Up up up into the air they go in an upward spiral that just has to come close to reaching the sun itself. You can't tell now if that is indeed the sun. The sky has become dark, although you can still see the swirl of color in the sky the butterflies make.
Swirling around and around, up and up, and the sky becomes ever darker. You know that it would be pitch blackness if the whirlpool of blue and pink and violet were to go out. And just as if it had heard your thoughts, it closes in upon itself, growing smaller, smaller. It all flows into itself, into a white portal in the dark. Flicker... flicker... the light has gone out.
