I haven’t written poetry in awhile. I wrote this a few nights ago.
darkness drowning her soul,
she cries in her bedroom,
feeling so hollow,
slowly fading,
feeling like a ghost,
one by one they disappear,
why is my fault she asks?
punishing herself daily,
why do I even try?
tortured soul,
this disease spread like fire,
slowly she’s consumed,
overpowered by sadness,
she’s here,
but yet she’s gone,
as she continues to fight,
her body feels broken like glass,
why am I so jaded?
she seeks for help,
hearing her echo in the night,
her memories are burning in the ashes,
a voice is beckoning out to her,
as she slowly she walks to it,
the darkness completely consumes her,
how do you help someone?
who suffers with great sadness?
she’s here,
but yet she’s gone,
a friend calls out for her,
and realizes she’s never coming back.
