Are you someone who enjoys teeming cities, replete with entertainment and activity, or do you prefer the intimacy and quiet serenity of the country?

I used to prefer the former but nowadays I lean toward the latter due to a longing for peace and quiet. At the same time, I can understand why some find the country boring.

I'm loving this country life now. So calm and quiet. Very relaxing to me. I don't even mind the 10 minute drive into town to go to Walmart.

I enjoy the country, the architecture is charming, I love the nature and the warm, hospitable people.

However, I prefer the city. I love discovering small, 'secret' green corners/parks. I love the history of a big city, the different building styles (often right next to eachother), the museums, theatres, stadiums... I love the lights of the city at night, and I adore its 'multicultural' side. It's so nice to meet so many different people, with different backgrounds and cultural values.

There is a village in Germany where my uncle lives , everything is made to look medieval , its like your going in a time machine back to 1500. Now thats a place where I would love to live.

I've lived in a VERY small town and also a smallish city. I hated it in both, too much noise. Now I live in the country, I do love it out here, it's so quiet, no close neighbors, but there are times when I wish I was closer to a city. As it is now, I have to drive at least 10 miles to get anywhere.

OHHH, I'd love to live there too :D

I like country, it's quiet. Cities are too busy with too many people. I live in a small town right now and it's perfect.

Similar to what Sci Fi said, I'd like to live in a small city with lots of nature but also surrounded by some people :)

Depends. I'd like to live in a rural town that is "not too big" but also "not too small". Right now I'm living very suburban, close to the city. Houses, stores, golf clubs, avenues, and highways as far as the eye can see. It's a mess to get to know everything. The layout of my community makes it seem like you're in a very green and wooded area, but in reality there are houses and highways on the other side lol.

I like small cities/large towns. I need to be able to walk to 'town' easily, not encounter too many people but still have access to stores / things to do.
I personally hate living in rural areas, I've had enough of that in my life. :p

As much as I like the peace of the country I dislike the usual small town mentality that comes with living there. As much as I like the opportunities within cities I dislike all the hustle and bustle there. I think I’d like living on the very outskirts of a larger city, that way I’d have my own peace but the ability to go in (and get out) when I need a little more.

I would not like living in total rural areas.. I like seeing neighbors and people go by knowing I'm not completely isolated. A small town to small city is fine with me a few miles away.

I like having plenty of neighbours and people around, because I want to see 'life'. I can't really imagine spending every day of the rest of my life in a little town, with the same few people and the same few houses.

The more I think of it, the more I realise I'm a 'city boy' ;)

Small towns are only warm and inviting if you happen to fit the mold that everyone else is like. Otherwise there is nothing for you there. In larger population hubs you can find small groups of people who have interests that are outside the norm that you can meet up with.

I like rural places for atmosphere. There would be many problems for me to live such a place, though. Most important is other people who live in such places... interactions would be terrible. Just to be in a car that drives through such places, I am stared at in such an awful way. If they were to learn other things of me, this would be very bad.

So rural, maybe this would be best, if some place so rural there are no other people at all. But to be self-sufficient is needed for that. But, I would be happy for that sort of life.
