Do you ever notice yourself getting bad again, like, you know that you're not doing work that needs to be done, you know you're not cleaning, you know you're not taking care of yourself, you know all the things you need to do to start trying to feel better, but you just can't?.

Yep, and I get mad at myself every time and in my head I'm like, tomorrow I have to do (this) and not do (that) and get things done. Then I end up doing that and not this again and circle back around. I'll do that several days in a row until I focus and actually get things done, and without starting something new until the other things are done. Right now I have about six projects on the go that I need to finish.

Yea, exactly this, thank you

I've actually managed to trim my fingernails and put on a load of washing since posting this. Sometimes all you need to know is your not the only freak in town :)

Ah thank you. I got some laundry done. I will write that down on the list so I can mark it off. :)

I make lists all the time. Even small things go on it when I’m feeling particularly unmotivated. You need one little thing that peps you up and avoid the things that bring you down. Like I avoid political talk, watching tv news and controversial programs, stupid social media reels, stupid people. Do positive things for yourself.

Yes, I have noticed. I have really noticed. So many things require a push when you're down. You know what i mean? But I think you've also noticed that once you begin the job ..... it gets done. You see it through to the finish. Of course, tomorrow you have to push yourself again. The habit just isn't there. Maybe if we make a little push a habit we won't really need to push anymore. Doing the job itself will become a habit. We did it before and I think we can do it again. What do you think about it?

I've actually managed to trim my fingernails ..... :)
I have the same problem. They grow faster and faster every month it seems. I have a remedy (well, not a remedy, but some help) and you might think it's nasty. My wife doesn't thiink it's very nice. Anyway, I put a fingernail clipper in my pocket when I go out and do the job "out there": On a park bench or waiting for the bus to arrive, except if someone else is within eye shot. I know it's a little messy but I justify (or excuse) myself becaue there are usually cigarette butts on the ground (at those very places) and smoking is forbidden there. So, I think to myself, "What about those people? They are worse than me!"

I am not sure that something like that would even catch my attention.
I am discreet. It's only the sound of "clip!" that might cause someone to look in my direction. And I try to disperse the clippings with my foot.

I'm sure there are worse things on the ground than your clippings. Plus, there are animals and bugs that could make use of them.
