Living life alone is hard enough, but being without a spouse, family, or friends during a season that fosters love and relationships is even harder. There are ways to cope, but I'd suggest that the most significant, lasting way to enjoy and look forward to Christmas is to appreciate the spiritual reason for the season. For those that don't understand or have been misguided by our secular culture, allow me to share a Christian perspective that you're free to ignore or embrace.

Contrary to evolution teaching, the laws of science dictate that the universe and all life as we know it must have been created by a supernatural being of some sort. That supernatural being is best described as the God of the Bible, based upon evidence of its Divine authority unlike any other written document in world history.

The Bible reveals that God created the universe and all life in it for his glory and pleasure, with a purpose of us knowing and loving him perfectly. People have always failed in this relationship, but God foreknew our sinful nature and from the very beginning revealed a plan of redemption to restore our relationship with him.

Over 100 prophesies of God's incarnation can be found in the Bible's Old Testament scriptures. Long before Jesus arrived on the scene, the details of his birth, death, and resurrection were known and anxiously anticipated.

The Gospel message of saving grace and reconciliation with God through Jesus Christ is the most significant, amazing, glorious event in human history. Nothing in all of this life compares to the impact that Christ's birth has had on the nations of the world and the billions of souls that will be saved by his act of Divine love, sacrifice, and redemptive work on the cross.

When a person sets aside their pride, unwillingness to submit, or selfish disinterest enough to recognize their fallen position before a Holy God that governs the universe; when they consider the fate of their eternal souls facing judgement before God, based not on their good or bad works, but upon their relationship with Jesus; then the birth of Jesus as our personal Savior becomes a paramount occasion worth celebrating.

If Christmas makes you feel lonely or depressed, it's because you're focused on the short term, temporary problems, worries or deficiencies of this world - your feelings and circumstances - rather than the big picture and your place in the eternal world and life to come. Of course it's nice sharing the moment with others, so go to church Christmas Eve, call or write everyone you know, reach out to those in need some how. But no matter whether you're alone or not, the spirit of Christmas, celebrating Christ's birth as the world's Savior, is yours for the offering to accept into your heart or not. For those that do, it's a joyful time of year that should surpass any situational feelings. Maybe it'd do you well to listen to this song - and believe it.

Sets aside their pride?

Really?

So people are full of pride for not accepting a book. Religion can sound so weak sometimes.

I like that moment that people seem to slow down at Christmas. I know it sounds as if I'm being sarcastic, because there's all the running around to do what's expected, the craziness.
But sometimes you catch people at just that right moment, when the warmth touches them, moves them, when they feel a pure joy, whether it's religion, their devout beliefs, family, a song, party, love, charity. It's magic, it's alive in the eyes, and I feel like I'm getting a gift when I see it, stranger or not.
(And I'm not around people much.)

Don't talk such utter tosh. If you want to believe in God, that's your choice, and I will respect it. However, that entire monologue is disrespectful and damming to Christian philosophy, assuming that you bother to read it subjectively. Peace, love, goodwill to all men. Not if you are a Christian zealot.

Thanks. Took the words right out of my mouth.

Gonna disagree with that, Arsenals ' Invincible's ' season was amazing.

Here's a song to really believe in

Christmas: a period for alcohol induced arguments and fights. Feigned friendship and faux family loyalty. A time when Christians pontificate about peace and goodwill, whilst sneering at the less Godly. Meanwhile, the media insist upon showing us what we must do to capitulate our souls.
But let us not forget, baby Jesus was born, died, reborn, with white privilege, from a virgin mother too; so that we could all worship him, despite that we are all made in his form and are equal. I am therefore a God, all kneel and appraise me. 😎

Let's not mention that our lord also gave kiddies cancer.

Happy Birthday (Raptor) Jesus. Hope your party was absolutely Cretaceous! 🦖 🤘 🎂 🎉

Nonsense. I see english letters and words but i don't understand any of it. A commercialzed event that's shoved down our throats here. I feel more angry than lonely and depressed around this time of year. At least none of my neighbors who usually wish merry crismust and happy new year don't say anything anymore. Most realize it's only someone's wild imagination and nobody here celebrates anything anymore. Nobody is happy. Loners like me or couples who also don't have anyone besides each other. Mostly because of cold weather and ****** environment. This year was one of the best, just another day for all.

Sorry, but I missed in science classes how this was a thing. All evidence rather points to the absence of that and the repeatable possibility of it on other planets, which I can't wait to witness, just to see how it messes with worldwide religions and their basis that humans are unique or specially created creatures.
But, I'm Evil.
You realize Christmas is a pagan holiday chosen randomly to represent the birth of Christ and has nothing really to do with religion per say, right?

Go out for Chinese food on Christmas Day.

Christmas doesn't make me feel anything. It's just another day. I'll probably just have pressure cooked broccoli, sweet potatoes, onions, carrots, and a small amount of chicken. Then for dessert I'll probably have a tomato or an apple. :)
I don't know you, but I can send you a card and gift this year if you want?

My friend from Holland loathed Christmas for years, because he is alone, so I send him food and gifts every year. Even got him a letter sent from the "real" Santa. He remembered how much he loved Christmas growing up, and now he is more obsessed with it than me. He is still alone, but always looks forward to it now.

yeah, lol. When you paint it in such a heartwarming light, you can see the benefits of being alone.

Thank you very much for the offer. But, no. :)
