Looking ahead I see bricks, I see mortar.
Before me is a wall, enabling torture.
No threat remains, the monsters have been vanquished.
So why toil behind these walls in anguish?

Self-made defense, self-destructs. I take the sledge.
I'm safe now, voices on the outside had said.
Brick by brick it tumbles away. I thank God.
Inside the crumble, I find what I had lost.

Walls built to protect, began to imprison.
Walls that blocked out the sun, canceled my vision.
Yet now I'm free, my life has begun anew.
To tear down your own walls, to yourself be true.
