OK. You don't like Religion, President Trump and Fox News.
I don't like Socialism, Bernie Sanders (or Biden and his handlers) and CNN.
Next.
I have to admit, I'm kind of curious why you like Trump.
He was a jock, a bully, he was literally exactly the kind of guy I thought you said you grew up hating.
He's pretty much the inspiration for all the kinds of people you don't like.
All the jocks, frat boys, bond traders and stuff like that, all those guys wish they could be Trump.
All the gang-bangers and pimps wish they could be him too.
It's the same mentality/personality, they are like mini versions of him, and he's like the ultimate form of it - the Dark Triad, the Darwinian jerk, the socially dominant personality.
He's not an orderly or smart person either. You've seen the way he talks, it's like fifth-grade level English at best. He treats his wives terribly, and regardless of what he says, his behavior suggests he is irreligious and either amoral, or immoral.
He hasn't convinced me that he understands
most complexity at all. I think he's just blundered through life on a combination of a rich background, where he simply has too much money to fail, as well as being good at outsourcing the consequences for failure on other people (the only complexity I think he
is actually good at) - and his whole lifestyle design business. It's not so much that he's an actual business genius with numbers, strategies, inventions and innovations, problem-solving, and creating wealth/value, but rather that he's good at branding and marketing himself. Basically he puts on a suit, yells a lot, brags about how much money he has, and people eat it up, they think "YEAH! BUSINESS! SUCCESS!"
It's not so much that he really IS a successful businessman, as much as it is that he plays one on TV.
Elon Musk is similar - he's not really that much of an engineer/scientist/inventor, he just plays one, and sells that image/brand to people, for his own advantage.
Remember that manila folder thing, where he had all those folders and said it was all his "business" or something? What was in those folders? Probably nothing. Or that time he hugged the flag. He did a lot of showmanship, a lot of performative "business" or "patriotism", things that seemed to insult the intelligence of his base.
Also, you've shown yourself to be an articulate, thinking person - so I feel like you have to know that Trump doesn't really care about America, right?
Think about it - why would he? He has no reason to, and every reason to benefit from America's demise - from looting it, not building it.
That was the thing that got me from the beginning, back in 2015 - his whole thing about "the forgotten men" never made any sense to me. Generally, we care about people that are similar to us, right? That's who we relate to, who we see ourselves in, rather than outsiders. Trump and everyone he knows personally are all 1%ers. They aren't "the forgotten men", those people aren't his family or friends. And the people paying for memberships at Mar-a-Lago, these are the same people that outsourced "the forgotten men's" jobs to the Third World in the first place. So Trump being all mad about China and Mexico never made sense either. Why would he care about that? It doesn't affect him, or anyone he personally knows or cares about. If anything he's for it.
He even looks down on his own base, and has been caught in so many lies, has shown himself to not understand or care about his job, and blatantly uses people for his own ends.
That said - and I want to be clear - I'm not a fan of Biden or the Democratic Party either. They have their own issues that I don't like, and non-endorsement of Trump is not automatically the same thing as endorsement of Biden. But I just don't understand this.
I'm not telling you what to think, or attacking you. It's more like, I feel like Trump is not the guy you (or a lot of other people) think he is, and he doesn't really seem to align with the things you say are important to you. In fact, he seems a lot more aligned with the people and things you don't like.
