I do not listen to music as much as I used to. I enjoy it at times. It can get me moving when exercising, set a tranquil mood, and dancing/singing is such a pleasure, but there is enough noise in my mind some times that songs can stir emotions I am not interested in experiencing. Anyways, I came across this and thought it was a bit amusing and interesting and wanted to share of course.

Hahahaha, i can relate. :p Sometimes, headphones aren't enough.

Also, has anyone on here ever heard of or tried binaural beats or isonchronic waves?

Basicly, they're sound waves that affect the brain in certain ways. You can use them for concentration, anti anxiety, serotonin boosts, all sorts of stuff. I used them for a while and they seemed to help me, it could also be the Placebo-effect though.

I have not heard of those beats and waves. Thank you for sharing. I incorporate music when I meditate some times. I think its beneficial!

Yeah I've tried some of those, I sometimes listen to ASMR videos an others to relax, but the binaural videos haven't been proven that they actually work, like you say it could be just a placebo effect.

I went three years without listening to my music during a particularly bad period of my life, when a ruthless overlord known only as MOTHER would swoop down at any moment and let you know just how much she hated you, often with a mental list in her head. But anyway.

I've always considered music a way to massage your soul and brain. Whereas a nice soak or indeed a true massage brings tranquility, and can do very little for your soul and mind, except the positive thought you get that your body is turned into decadent mush. So music definitely effects the brain, and I also agree with each of your five points, made up or not, they're definitely true, or at least close enough to the bone it could pass for marrow, anyway.

I use it to get off the couch. Doesn't sound that impressive but if you knew me...
