Hi-
I work for an insurance company. There's 8 examiners on my team. My boss just announced he is leaving for another position. Most of my coworkers and I like the boss, so we're disappointed he's leaving.
But one coworker (I'll call her Jill) seems to be happy he's leaving. Maybe because she just got written up for coming to work whenever she feels like it, sometimes strolling into the office after noon, Starbucks cup in hand.
My boss's last day is in two weeks and we were just told that Jill will be off for at least the next two weeks. Coincidence? I don't think so. The gossip mill was running full blast today and the consensus is that she decided to take off the next two weeks until the boss leaves so she doesn't have to deal with him anymore. Problem is, now we all have to do her work and she is already the shittiest examiner on the team. Her work is massively behind and now will be magically caught up by us while she's gone. Not to mention our client is already putting pressure on us to meet new standards that we are having difficulty meeting. I was in one of Jill's files today and found that she worked this past Sunday and overtime is expressly forbidden in my company. I just may bring that to the attention of our boss and let the chips fall where they may. :club:
