I'm a twelfth grader and I've studying studying together with my classmates for 3 years. I have no friends at school, pretty lonely. Today I read a page of a book. I was shaking and sweating- so frustrating. I'm always very nervous. However when I attend English courses, I feel very confident and comfortable. Mostly there are adults and few students. In my IELTS preparation course, I volunteer and give a speech a lot in front of many people. When i make mistake or something I don't get ashamed or anxious. But at school even such a little grammatical mistake makes me shake. How much i try I really could be confident at school as I'm in English courses. Quarter of my classmates are so mean and always try to indirectly bully me. Half of my classmates just okay. And the rest are just good ones.

Hey Bebeskii,
I can really relate, I had a lot of trouble reading out loud in school, or doing presentations. I would be very uncomfortable and sweat, shake and get that lump in your throat. But outside of school, I could teach classes, and work with large groups, with confidence. I could speak in front of groups all day with out getting nervous. Hang in there, I know how tuff that can be, especially if you make a mistake, just try to take it easy on yourself, and don't beat yourself up for it. I don't have any special trick to not feel that way. BUt just do your best to not let it get to you. Best of luck, :D

Don't beat yourself up about it! It always seems harder to speak in front of a crowd of people who you know, or think, are judging you. Do not focus on anyone else. It's one of those things of "dance like no one is watching" and "sing like no one is listening". It's basically tuning out everything else, focusing mainly on the task at hand. It is hard to do it, but you might be able to! And, take, your, time. The faster you speak, the more flustered you are - the more flustered you are, the more likely you are to make mistakes.

And that is exactly why you get so nervous. I would find any way I could not to do speeches in front of the class or not read out loud. I'd sink down in my seat and try to hide from the teachers line of sight, of course they would notice this and call on me. Idiots.

I hate those creepy stares from my classmates.
