When I got my first car, Easter Sunday, that was the most success in my life in a while. Also, getting my own bank account too.
Before, I was in a bad depression and I isolated myself in the house and hardly went out anywhere. A few months ago, I saw a car I really wanted. It was a blue 2006 Saturn Ion Sedan (I love the look of those cars), but it was out of our price range. After awhile, my Dad decided that he would get me a car. I looked on Kijiji for a long time and saw one Easter Sunday on Kijiji. It was a 2005 Toyota Echo Hatchback and 4600 KM. It was only $5,000. My Dad had agreed to buy it even though it wasn't the car I wanted. The only downside about it, is that the owners had smoked in it, so we had to air it out for awhile. I like it, it's a good car and it's a Toyota, a much better car then I would have gotten if I bought the Saturn Ion. I did some research in the difference between Japanese and American cars and Japanese/European cars have a lot better quality and more reliable. My Dad already owns a Toyota. He bought a 2008 Toyota Tacoma last year because his Dodge Truck was always in need of repairs and spring last year, we had replaced our 2000 Dodge Caravan with a brand new 2009 Toyota Yaris Sedan. The first Toyota car we bought was for my sister to travel to University with, was a 2003 Toyota Echo Sedan (we still have it but were gonna sell it because she has an apartment in Halifax and hardly uses it now).
Anyway, since I got my car, I have no problem going places unlike before. My Dad also got me my own bank account and he pays me money because I work for his company as a courier to deliver stuff etc. When you have your own independence, it can go a long way. As long as you use that independence correctly.
I bought the parts and built my Mom a computer to replace the old Dell *cough* that we used to have, also updated the hardware in my Dad's computer, has almost the same specs as in my Mom's computer. I have spent most of my money on my folks, with computer and upgrading things in the house, not because I have to, because I want to.
