lol well as you can tell by my subject i had tat that involved a girls name and it wasn't just any girl it was my son's mom's name. but when i drink i can't bare to see it, so last week i couldn't take it anymore and i got a metal rod and heated it up till it turned red, then i put it towards my forearm where my tat is and it burned it but lol to my notice the tattoo didn't go away it's still there lol all i did was give myself a 3rd degree burn and $300 worth of hospital bills lol, what im trying to say is dont give yourself a headache over nothing and talk about what problems you have you never know when a stranger can help.

I don't see a problem in getting a tattoo of your child's mother/father on you. But it doesn't seem like the tattoo is the real problem here.

Getting a tattoo is ok I guess, especially if it's a loved one. Just as long it isn't something that is a reminder of something hurtful from your past or anything you'll grow to hate.

I would never get a tat of a girl/wife/baby mother because whit can go south and you have the name of you ex on you.__

If you go to your local tattoo place they can help you come up with something to cover it up. :)

Yeah, I've seen many people try to burn them off, sand paper them off, etc. The ink goes way down into your skin. The best thing to do is either have it removed by a professional or have it covered up with something else.

I've never seen the attraction to tattoos! No offence intended to anyone her that might have them.

I know lots of people who have them, but I'm yet to see one look genuinely...I don't know, aesthetically positive?

I think certain tattoos carry with them a weight of respect and meaning.

Like, if you were in the Marines or Navy and get your outfit tattooed on your arm, it really conveys something. Or if you have a tribal background and have tattoos to represent that.

I just don't understand when people who have absolutely no connection to sailing, the sea or military service get a gigantic anchor inked onto their arm! Or when someone gets Celtic tribal symbols when they have Nordic ancestry.

Relationships seem to shift all too easily, a permanent bodily reminder of them seems like a poor idea to me :\

(Note: I find it weird when girls get tattoos on their bodies, especially in intimate places. I mean, a girls' body is surely already one of the most beautiful shapes a man can gaze upon. Why paint it garish colours? :( )

Me neither. I am always thinking people will regret them later when I see someone has gotten one.

"why'd you do that to your body? It's permanent and your conception of yourself isn't and will shift throughout your lifetime."
