Do you guys believe in this?

I used to… but then i never got the things i wanted or needed, so i eventually concluded that it was all just bs. I then told myself that we humans simply search for patterns in the universe because if it was all just random and we had no control over it, it would be too hard for us to deal with.

It may work, or it may not work, i have no idea… i just know it didnt work for me, and i wish it had have because then i might still have hopes for a way out of my beliefs/non beliefs.

I am not sure what you are asking.

do you guys believe in "the law of attraction", or the phenomenum called "the secret"

Basically that we attract to us what we think of most… based on the idea that our minds can pull energy to us.

because if that was the case, id surely have all i need by now

Personally, I think we attract what we think we want. Partly because of these stupid "laws." Partly because of the stupid "leagues" people keep trying to put themselves in.
I believe it is completely random. You might be attracted to what you think you want, but there is just as likely of a chance that you will find yourself being attracted to someone you NEVER thought you'd want.
People don't give some people a chance because they are too busy judging or labeling or putting themselves into leagues or so determined to find someone that fits every point on their list, that they don't give other people a chance.

A bit confusing but still I appreciate the reply and i do agree with your point, but I think what Im asking is that if the secret works…then shouldnt I have manifested all the things I wanted/needed by now?

I get so tired of people telling me, like they know what the problem is… "hey have you read the secret?"

As if I didnt read shakti gowan 20 years ago or something., like this theory is all new to me.

And if I tell them I dont believe it and it doesnt work… they tell me thats my problem, that i dont believe it .:club:

Well, it IS on you if you don't believe it, but I wouldn't say that's a problem. You believe what you believe and no one should judge you or condemn you or make you feel lesser for it.
You just have a different way of going about it than others do. Nothing wrong with that.

Yet, my way cant be right either because it has resulted in nothing.

i need a third option

attraction is based on a number of things. It's not just one thing such as looks or size of wallet.

I think if the Law of Attraction truly worked then we would all be millionaires living paradise as I am sure that would be the most common wish.

To some degree I think it can help you focus but in the end you need to work at your goals and be smart in your decision making if you really want to achieve anything.

Im not talking about man and woman attraction and what that is, Im talking about attracting the things into your life that you want….

The right career, the life you want.. all of it

Well, the only real thing to do is keep trying. Very few people have had success without having "failed" a time or two or fifty.
Work hard, keep chugging on, don't give up and eventually, you will find yourself in a place you want to be.

But, when you get there, will you really be content to stay there or will you keep wanting to go higher and higher and having new goals in mind?

Randomness and luck will only take you so far. You have to put in the work to get where you want to be, if you're sure you want to be there.

I saw the video many years ago I found it was a little over the top, but the message is a good one. I know that when I'm feeling negative and complaining a lot, I find that nothing goes right for me. When I have a positive attitude and try to keep my hopes up, I seem to have a better day and things seem to go my way. Overall, I find that having a positive attitude brings me more happiness. It also improves my mood, which is essential for managing depression.

I've always been suspicious of New Age beliefs, and I think the Law of Attraction is part placebo and part simple logic. Our thoughts modify our behavior and our perception, which can change what we notice, the vibes we give off, how frightening a new situation seems, and more. A person convinced people are going to like them may have more confident posture and more emotional openness than someone who is afraid, and attract more attention because of it. Someone convinced good things are coming is more likely to persist until they do, and to attribute that success to the rituals they encouraged themselves with. Nothing magical about it.

From what I understand some believers also say that the Law of Attraction can change outcomes simply because of the energy contained in thoughts. I think it's anthropocentric to think that the universe both understands and responds to human sentiment in ways that human beings understand, or that the little blips of energy and electricity in our minds and bodies can control blips far bigger and older or more numerous.

I do believe in it, in a sense. I think the idea takes its power from what we already know to be true, we may be able to direct the world around us with our minds. I think all of us have had a moment in our lives where we did something like thought... I wish that guy would fall down... and then they do. I suspect that it is like 1% and like a lot of people have to think it at the same time.

When I was younger I had a boss I really hated. He was evil. I worked in accounting and found that one day he had let a lot of people go under the claim we had some substantial part of the business stop. But because I was in finance I knew it wasn't true. He let people go who had been there for years because it would save him money. Including one guy who's child was about to go under brain surgery. For months me and everyone else who knew this said things like "I hope someday that happens to him" or I hope some day his greed bites him in his ***. Of course -- it did, he sold the company to a larger company that promised him that he would be kept on as CEO, but then they fired him and actually escorted him out with security guards.

I even feel like that happens with regard to great tragedy. I remember clearly when the challenger blew up. They eyes of the world were on that but after a few trys we had been yanked around due to the weather and even I was sick of it...

I remember the moment I heard, I thought of all the missions that could go wrong... of all the ways it could have gone wrong...

I digress I think there is something to the power of the mind... but not much and I don't think you can manifest anything. I think you can however, influence things. Push things. And sometimes, and this is scary, it might literally be dependent on the number of people that you have also rooting for the same thing. Maybe why loners don't do well in life.

Nope, I don't subscribe to that per se.
However, I feel that we have a fair amount of control over what we do or don't allow into our lives.

So, my boss is a jerk. One thing about him is that he "loves" his wife. His wife fell and broke her hip in 2011. Right after he had been a jerk to me. Ok, break one hip you can recover from that. He went on vacation again .. after being a jerk to me. His wife broke her hip again... the other leg. So here is the thing, I have heard that breaking both hips is almost catastrophic to the ability to balance. She is 70. She will forevermore be extremely shaky and, I foresee, that she will do it again.

He is like a complete baby. She takes care of him at home and I basically take care of him at work. He is retiring and will not have anyone to take care of him and when she can not longer walk / is bed ridden, or dead -- as I think she soon will be.. what will become of him? HA HA. Getting older sucks and Karma is a *****.

And I realize by saying this, I am possibly dooming myself.

I've always attracted *who I am* in terms of love relationships...it's uncanny.

I will attract men with similar emotions, attitudes, beliefs....that has been wonderful.

I also attract some people to my life with similar beliefs, attitudes but not so much. I still have had a hard time making friends and I don't know why.
