Tex Is Lost

Today is November 11, Veterans Day in the United States.
I don't know who wrote the following, but it spoke to me when I found it.
I served, but I never heard a shot fired in anger. I revere those who did.
So I now plagerize the following lines for any who ever put on a uniform and shouldered a rifle.

"They joined for many reasons, to march, to sail to fly,
They went where they were posted, but no one joins to die.
Their leaders talk on TV, 'what else could we have done?'
But those leaders lost no daughters, and none has lost a son.
So here's to all our soldiers, wherever they may be,
And here's to all their families, I raise a glass to thee"

To our veterans. Those who are and those who will be. Thank you.

respect and peaceful rest to those who have died,
acknowledgement and honour to those who have survived
and to those serving in combat right now; i really hope you come home whole and alive!

Thank you veterans, and those who are still on the battlefield.

Much thanks to all our vets for your service.
Old quote "what if they gave a war and no one came"?
