It's been on the news all week where I live (including today). Every community around here had a ceremony. Several communities around here have a piece of one of the towers and created a memorial around those pieces. A lot of people (cops, firefighters and whatnot) from the area went to New York to help. It's actually still a big deal around me.I think 9/11 today entirely depends on who you are and if you know anyone impacted personally by it. I have friends and family who fought in the war. I have friends who were severely injured in the war. My brother in law was one of the firefighters that helped at the crash site in PA. It still matters to me. I was just at the memorial they built at the crash site in PA this summer. There were A LOT of people there. And for rural PA with nothing else around, I think that says something about how people feel about that day (though, it's not too far off the turnpike)But no, I don't think we'd have a better society if that day never happened. That day, even if just for a short time brought us all together. We were united for that short period of time. I think if that day never happened, we would be even more divided than we are today. Also, they would have just found someone else to have a war with or get involved with. America can't help butting in.
