Hey guys, I'm new to the site. I am writing a screenplay about loneliness. The protagonist is a 29 year old man, living in an apartment, on unemployment. He has no friends, and never really has. His mother still calls, but that only makes him feel more alone.
Sometimes I can feel pretty lonely, especially after I graduated and most of my friends moved away, or went to college.
I want to be a screenwriter, and this subject is interesting to me. I think true loneliness has never been captured on film better than in Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver. (Note my username and avatar)
What I really want is some insight into the minds of the truly lonely. What goes through your mind when you see everyone else getting by so easy? What is it that you are searching for? Do you push people away? etc.
What does it FEEL like? What does a normal day in your life consist of?
I'd love to hear what you've got to say.
