Rest in peace, Jimmy Carter. He made it to 100.
I wasn't alive for his presidency, but he was said to have been a smart and nice person, and he seemed to be staying positive and active even into his later years.

It's sad to hear that a good person passed, but also, it's sad to hear of the passing of the last president before corporate rule, a person who was still on regular people's side. The last of the people with the 1933-1981 economic thinking, that thought the best way forward for a strong country was to invest in regular people, instead of only in the billionaires.
If this keeps going on, eventually people won't remember that things used to be better than they are now, there used to be a better way. And in some regards, people used to be better, too. It's all going to seem like a myth.
We sure could use some of those pre-corporate rule people back today.
