Female empowerment in the mainstream media

I did like to read some as a kid. But that was when I was in a grouphome and restricted to an hour a day on the TV. Also, internet barely existed back then, and not even close to the practical mainstream sense that it does now. Apparently the first search engine was invented in 1990, and without...

Female empowerment in the mainstream media

40 here, but I've always been a sucker for visual effects. Also, due to anxieties, especially the past five years or so, I don't think I could read a book if I tried.. That's one thing books can't give you though, is mind-blowing visuals.. I watched, the avengers movie with Thanos (The good one...

How old are you? If you don't mind me asking?

Female empowerment in the mainstream media

Yep, but also gotta work on that balance between "men are not human", and "men and women are the same". Like I've tried to explain a thousand times, not every man is born into a 50 thousand dollar suit, and raised to be racist, sexist, violent, and stupid. I know they make it cuz people will...

Female empowerment in the mainstream media

That's most women with me. I've never really been a fighter. Also, a lot of women are dainty/boney as they are, because they don't consider the concept of working a job that they consider to be 'man work', like construction. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot more than there used to be, but all...

Female empowerment in the mainstream media

It's not a terrible thing when done right, but when done wrong, is so absolutely bad for women and men. It not only breeds more unwarranted blanket hate and discrimination against men, but also paints a bad image of women, as well as teaching toxic gender norms into young women. A good example...

Lonely by choice, and hating it..

    Ya don't say?!

Lonely by choice, and hating it..

I personally prefer quality over quantity. Quick responses are nice, but I've gotten plenty of quick responses that added up to nothing. It mostly annoys me when someone takes forever to respond, then contributes nothing.

Scams That Prey On the Lonely

Lol.. it's pretty old. Most people don't live much longer than that, especially guys, since we typically die 5 years younger than women.

Lonely by choice, and hating it..

I bet a lot of people here would agree with feeling that way. In large part it can seem true, due to all the precious snowflakes of the world, and judgemental pricks driven by vanity. As long as you're not going around being a deliberate A-hole, then the problem is likely with everyone else, and...

Lonely by choice, and hating it..

That can be true, but depending on what those problems were, I wonder if they may not have had those problems if things had worked out with you? Love in one's life can make a big difference.

All good things start with a single step. So, that said, what's your story?

Lonely by choice, and hating it..

I can give you a bit of advice in that, since I just fell into a similar situation before being ghosted. Don't allow your insecurities to take over. Be yourself, but reel yourself in just enough to not lose her in the process. It's fine to tell her the bullet points of your shortcomings, but...

Lonely by choice, and hating it..

I've honestly found myself uncomfortable around people that I can't express myself around.. like, claustraphobic in a sense.. Constantly having to reel myself in, and hold myself back. I've got too much internal energy for that ****.. Just too bad that it took the entire world being locked...

Scams That Prey On the Lonely

While I thank you for the support, I honestly can't agree with much of what you've said, due to the level of judgementalism and general ignorance.. Not to mention, you're saying all of this crap to a dude that's old, ugly, and poor, so.. thanks...? Not every dude is just out for sex. At least...

And the more that I say, the less people respond.. Is there only actually 10 people on this entire site..?

Lonely by choice, and hating it..

LOL... You actually had me there.. Yea, you're alright, lol.. I read that line while half asleep in bed, and then got up to go to my computer to write out the kind of expansive reply that would typically follow such a message, XD. Little different at work though, there'll always be...

Lonely by choice, and hating it..

The psychology behind many of our loneliness's, is quite fundamentally screwed up, and downright contradictory in some cases. I've spent years in pain because no one see's value in me as a person. And yet, whenever I consider a situation in which I could realistically connect with people, Like...

    testify

This is very true. One sees value in their ideologies, and their general beliefs on what is good and right, and in a sense, that is what builds up your identity as a person. But when people refuse to take the time to understand those things, they dismiss not only your dialogs, but, by...

hatred makes people kill other people. loneliness makes people kill themselves. which one is worse, tell me

Precious snowflakes are largely responsible for suicides imho. Because if you tell someone, that you don't like, the truth, they may hate you, but if you insist on lying to them to 'protect their feelings', they'll hate themselves.. There's nothing more selfish than telling someone a lie under...
