I'm not charismatic enough, or non-jealous enough, to make an open relationship work. Assuming I could get past insecurities, I wouldn't be charismatic enough. At this point, I can barely imagine convincing just one nice woman to be interested in me. lol

I can see how it might work, for certain types of people though. I feel the life, of the type of people that could make such a thing work, is probably a whole lot less stressful than most mere mortals. However, for me, it seems way too stressful though, just to think about the dynamics. I would prefer not to have that much hassle.

As for fantasies... I tell ya what I'd do if I had a million dollars... :p

This is actually true, and bravo to them for doing so. 👏(y)
Japan.jpg

Sometime ago, I've stumbled upon this article which explains how women behave in Japan. Sure, due to a way more extreme amount of "westernization" which South Korea suffers from aswell after it's pro feminism campaigns, I have no doubt we have this aswell, the source of all, where women would lock down men if they had the chance, and I read this from reddit stories people post about their relationships. Why not take the easy way out if it's possible?

Some areas in western countries look like they might still be more conversative in that regard which would be the dudes' point, though its all slowly dissolving anyways.

So people of reddit posting opinions to an article that is 5 years old is your source? Yeah, sorry, that doesn't really hold up well....

As if the situation has changed radically over the years. It's still the same Japan. Japan is dying to the point they invite foreigners to impregnate their women to boost up the birthrates with "breeding visas" in 2022.

that article sounds like incel propaganda but anyway I think it describes a small percentage of any Western society

Social Science isn't much of a Hard Science, so I don't really care for it. It's neither Physics nor Chemistry.
I don't really get into Political Science much either, because of the exact same reason.
I don't really believe in Power Dynamics outside of bedroom play.
To a person like me, all humans are equal among the grave and all money is blood money, and that should be read as nonchalantly as possible.
Meh.

I think what it sounds like is catastrophizing - latching on to the worst case scenario, and believing that it is the most likely scenario, and as a result, falling into anxiety and despair.

I don't mean to discredit the person that posted it, it's just that I've catastrophized about things in the past and lost a lot of time and energy to it that I wish I could get back. So sure, that article sounds bad, but it can't be that everyone acts like that.

I don't think I would like that. I mean the thought of sharing someone with another woman or with other partners may be exciting to some, but not to me. I'm stingy. I want my man and my chocolate all to myself.
I think polygamy itself is not against Gods law, for example, but it probably causes more harm than good. Jealousy, hatred between sisters or other wives, and can you imagine the fights that would start over just what to fix for supper? I know for me knowing that my husband preferred to be with someone else (and he does) has created a wall between us that will not easily be broken down or climbed over, even if he someday plans on returning.

Interesting post.. I already knew a good amount of this from YouTube videos I've watched about Japan (filmed by people in Japan), but this post really sums it up.. our world is really turning to **** over the past 20ish years..

If I was in a relationship and she asked me to make it open I would take it to mean that she wasn't attracted to me anymore and it would be the end of it for me.

Mehh I’d consider it if it was a one sided thing 😅 we cant both be doing all that. But another spin on this question is… what if you became unable to have ***… car accident or whatever… would you consider it then? 🙈 sorry sorry im the girl who cant stop asking questions, im easily intrigued 😂

Than I probably wouldn't be in a relationship at all, given my handicap.
Most of my emotional existential dread in life is something I've already resolved.
What I mean is, that yearning to be in a relationship that single people usually have?
Yeah I don't have that.
Sure, I have off days, a rough week at most, but they're rather seldom.

So if you was in one you’d break up with her ? 🥺 thats sooo sad, I’d be a decent person and stay if that was my man…

OH!
That complicates the situation.
I guess I didn't think about ALREADY being in a relationship. :unsure::unsure::unsure:

I'm not entirely sure, to be honest.
Handicapped people have sexual relationships all the time, so that's difficult for me to wrap my head around.
I had a friend of mine in college who had Cerebral Palsy actually, but his mind was fine. He just was paralyzed from the waist down and had a slight speech impediment. Otherwise though, he literally works for NASA and is a certified rocket scientist. So IDK, I haven't talked to him in a long time, I wonder what he'd think about it.
On a similar circumstance:
There's an Australian woman, who is 22 years old, but due to a medical condition is permanently stuck in the body of an 8 year old girl.
She had a life-threatening brain tumor as a toddler that was removed before she was 10 years old.
They later discovered that it effected the part of the brain that manages the growth hormones of the body.
She's otherwise of perfectly sound mind and is otherwise an adult.
But I mean, she can't even do her makeup without having to go get a chair to stand on so she can reach the mirror above the sink in the bathroom, and gets I.D.'ed for sitting at bars which she said creates a really difficult socially awkward situation for her.
And of course her dating life is not really existent, because I mean, well, any man that dates her is going to automatically look bad publicly. :grimace:
Like it's sad, really, really sad.

My grandmother is a retired social worker and assisted living coach who worked with people with disabilities. So this is actually kind of a really interesting question to me. I'd ask the old woman, but her dementia unfortunately would skewer any answer she'd give me. I think she only had or 3 clients that had relationships. Due to legal reasons of where I live I think there's laws about it due to their condition and handicap, but I'm not, entirely sure?
