ALL Users Fees???

Hey ALLians,

I've been kind of thinking about that message upper management sent out a couple of days ago regarding the possibility of implementing users fees on ALL since advertising is coming up short on filling the coffers.

I for one am not interested in having it based on income. The suggestion of a monthly fee didn't really float my boat either (I do get cranky and take my toys home to pout on occasion- lol). I would consider a yearly subscription if it was cheap enough though. I noticed there was no mention of a "per post" fee either, I wonder if that's an option they've considered?

My other concern- payment! I'm not really comfortable giving out my Visa or M/C number- is PayPal an option? It would be worth considering as I'm sure there's more than a few here who feel as I do (or simply don't have credit cards....). And why did the info come as pm/email?

Hmmm, I wonder how potential future forum users would feel about joining a paid forum?

I currently charge 5 English pence per letter for my presence here, it is debited into my paypal account at the end of each week, with + reps on posts doubling the amount up to 10 pence per letter, and an extra bonus £1 if I can get someone to say the words "I have now".

I do not agree with it being based off of one's income either, I do not mind contirbuting to ALL site, however I think the means of payment and evaluation of cost per member needs to be reconsidered ... !!

If there were fees of any kind I doubt many people would stay. This site is cool...but not that cool. Most pay forums offer some kind of information or service that is valuable and hard/impossible to find somewhere else. There are plenty of free alternatives to ALL. A few would stay, and there wouldn't be any more new members coming, and the site would die.

I'm with the others and guessing this is an April fool's spam that you got.
