Yes.

Why do you feel the need to proselytise?

Why don’t you use your 8hrs to your advantage and maybe learn a language, or listen to a podcast, anything that gets you escaping your own thoughts?

This is just my opinion, but I believe that many people who believe in God proselytise and interact with fellow believers to reassure themselves of their own belief. They need that credence.

To your first question. Imagine if you are standing on a freeway, and there is a truck coming fast. Someone yells at you, and says "Hey! you better get off the road", and you look back at that person and ask "Why do you feel the need to tell me this?" Just then the truck runs you over. Life is like this, first you are born, and then you grow up, and then you die. If a person truly believes they have the answer to how to have eternal life, would it be more loving to not tell you, or to try and tell you about it?

To your second question. I get this question asked of me online a lot! Firstly learning other languages is not my thing. My former Spanish teacher recommended that I never try to learn another language because it is too hard for my brain. As far as podcasts are concerned, I listen to an hour, sometimes 2 hours, and sometimes 3 hours of podcasts every night. I also listen to an audio Bible every night. Once in a blue moon I will listen to an audio book. I also listen to music while I vacuum the rooms. So all that you asked of me here, is already being done except for learning another language.

This might come as a surprise, but I do agree with you. The Christian life is not meant to be lived all alone, as I do. When someone is in a good Christian community (Church) they have fellowship and this does help make the belief system stronger. But as far as telling the unsaved about Jesus, that is actually a commandment that Jesus himself gave to us to do.

Earlier you asked me why I don't talk to my Christian leader, and I responded I don't have a Christian leader. Then you pointed out that Jesus is my Christian leader. I'm putting this in my own words. Anyways I do believe that He is just a prayer away. However, there are also earthly Christian leaders as well. They are called Pastors. I do not have a Pastor because I'm an outcast to the local body of believers. Now that is something to talk about! Churches are run by imperfect people, and they don't always follow the scriptures like they should. There are a lot of people in Churches that don't even know the Bible all that well. But in my solitude working alone at the school, has given me plenty of time to listen to the Bible and I've been through it multiple times since 2007. As a result, when I'm around Churchy people, I often can sense that something doesn't seem to line up with what I'm hearing from it.

When I encounter a fervent salesperson, it’s because they have seen their product actually work as advertised, or, knowingly or not they’re part of a scam. I hope you’re of the former.

You can't sell anyone Jesus. I know some that try. Jesus doesn't promise anyone a good life.

1 Peter 4:13
13 But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

Not a good sales pitch.

You’re giving me information for questions I’m not asking. This is the issue I have with many Christians. All they care to talk about is their faith and they way they talk about it only impresses upon me that they think I’m inferior for not following in their footsteps. Every answer to anything revolves around their Christianity and to be honest, it’s downright boring. I hope you find someone that reciprocates your beliefs so you may acquire some solace in your life.

Christians don't want you to burn in Hell. It is as simple as that.

It’s the arrogance that annoys me, how sure they are that any other spiritual viewpoint aside from their own couldn’t possibly be true, hence the statement below.

I would rather they concentrate on making people’s lives better while they’re here on earth.

I was avoiding the use of that word because I understand their fervor.

Perhaps I am making your life a little better. You are on a lonely forum, and I am giving you someone to talk to, and a subject to talk about.

Er no. But I do get that you THINK you’re being helpful. That’s all part of the brainwashed thinking you have succumb to. When I say brainwashed, I don’t mean it in a bad way really, I just mean that you have allowed yourself to believe what you believe. You believe there is only one right way and that in itself is arrogant (dammit I was trying to avoid that word). If you were born in India, your father probably would’ve given you something else to read and you’d be on a different “right” path.

As for the subject, it’s rather frustrating and doesn’t do anything for me but keep me occupied, or rather, distracted from what I should be doing. So I’m going to go do that which is better for me than sitting around reading my phone.

May your faith bring you happiness.

Btw, this forum is not only for loneliness.

Interesting, how do you know that you are not brainwashed?

I might be, but I’m not trying to convince anyone to follow my beliefs.

I think there is something inside of you. Prodding you. Cause you know that you don't need to keep answering back.

Now that we are on the subject of brainwashing. I tried googling how does one know if they are brainwashed. lol It said, did you use soap and water? Just kidding.

The reason why you don't try spreading your beliefs is because your beliefs have nothing to offer anyone.

Funny thing is, when I started my original post I wasn't trying to spread my beliefs, I was merely being honest about my situation. I would of preferred if another Christian would of engaged with me. But since you decided to engage with me, and you are not a believer. At least not yet. I had to try. Like I said earlier. If you are a freeway and a truck in going to run you over, and I did nothing to try and get you off the road, then I wouldn't be doing what a good human being should do.

You should go seek for yourself if what I say is true or not. If you are not convinced that it is true, then that is ok with me. But at least I tried to tell you the truth from my perspective.

Apart from the assumptions you make because of your belief in God, which I will not address because that would be argumentative, you made the following assumptions directly of me;

1. You don't sound like you are a Christian so you might not understand what I'm trying to say.

2. The reason why you don't try spreading your beliefs is because your beliefs have nothing to offer anyone.

3. You should go seek for yourself if what I say is true or not.

And I decided to engage with you because I had the time and I felt like it, especially because you are new here and wanted to help you feel welcomed.

1. I said this because you don't sound like a Christian to me, and I was trying to deter you from engaging in conversation about this with me cause I have experience with this going down a bad road.

2. What do you consider yourself? What do you believe in?

3. I stand by this statement, because I can't convince you.
