I've got at least 1001 trance tunes on my iPod :p

Anybody else a fan? It would be nice to chat about it with somebody, there is always debate on how trance started out!

Like with football, (see my other post) I have nobody to talk to about this :|

i like a few trance songs. though i dont remember the names as i have more than likely heard them in movies. well, atleast i think its trance. im a bit unsure on what type of electronic music is technically considered trance. i just like stuff with a strong mood, and i have found that some trance songs have that.

I understand your confusion, nowadays it's not really the same as it was they seem to think going the pop way works (which it rarely does)

Usually a 140bpm tempo is trance, I've got lots with a strong mood. Plenty of trance used in movies :p

I like the trance and electronica sounds but I'm mainly into death metal. I wish there were more bands that crossed genres... some of the better ones I've come across so far are Born of Osiris, Machinae Supremacy and Blood Stain Child.

Actually, if you can suggest some good trance to me that would be really cool!

This is a bit old thread but I'll respond anyway... There's a group called "enigma"... Their earlier albums are pretty good... They took what sounds like a catholic chanting & made a music out of it...

Hmmm...great band, Enigma, but not sure if their music is considered trance or not? Personally, when I think of trance music, I think 'repetitive' and 'electronic'. Ever heard of this band, Underworld? Love their stuff, this is what I consider trance. Here's an example:

So e of the enigma's earlier albums are exactly that, electronica & repetitive... Or may be I'm misunderstanding what trance music is... Look up "sadness" or "return to innocence" by enigma & let me know if those sound like trance music?
