Whos slingblade?

It's a movie about a guy who has a very visceral reaction to bullies regardless of who they are.

Others might say it's a movie about a retard that whacks pricks in the head with a sharpened lawnmower blade. Tomato. Tomahto.

sounds interesting might give it a look.:)

From an early age I taught my child about the perils of bullying - from being the bullied to being the bully. I taught her that neither are acceptable. My father taught me two important lessons in life that I value:

1. If you want something, earn it.
2. If someone hits you, hit them twice as hard and twice as many times.

I've passed these along to my child. "Hit" can be perceived both literally and metaphorically. Both apply in this instance.

We have the smalltown "royalty" as I describe them. It's ridiculous. Mommy and Daddy own a construction company or a local bar and suddenly all of the children wear their pumped-up kicks around town and treat everyone else like they are subhuman. I definitely know the type. Around here if you drive a Cadillac you are "rich" but if you drive a Chevy you are "poor". What I want to say to these people is "Hello, none of you is rich because nobody is driving a Bentley". ******* idiots.

Wonderful movie. However, I do love Dwight Yoakam's music, but his acting leaves much to be desired.

Hello,
I'm living in the uk,but i was brought up in an Irish catholic/protestant household and so there was alot of fighting on the street in the house drinking and all that sort of thing we dident fit in with anyone and we dident give a toss but thats a cultual thing the english dont like the irish so **** them, but my moms passed away now and my dad i'm estranged from and my sister i never see my brother i still see,but these are lessons that life teaches us,fighting fire with fire dosent always work, and it dosent matter what you drive what sneakers you wear ,worth comes from inside material worth means nothing whats inside someones heart and what kind of person they are is how we should be judged.

"teachers used to beat their kids...all in all we were just bricks in the wall..."

lol you should just kill bullies and all your problems would be solved.

but seriously i think it's society that is the main culprit. i don't know about uk but in america aggresive machoism is applauded and it starts in early in school. we have sports teams like football that tell kids to be aggresive to get what you want in life. we teach that it's okay to push people around as long as they are weaker than you. the this is applied in the workforce such as business with ******** that show off to impress their boss.

The culture of violence is allowed and spreads because males are disposable. In a million ways, we send the signal to our young men that they are disposable. Ever notice how the news - in the year 2013 - distinguishes "...and so many women and children were killed...?" Nothing offends me more than this particular comment, and I hear it far too often. It's as though the loss of women and children is more significant, more wrong, somehow more of a loss than the death of an adult male. All human life has value. However, you can not have a subculture of those for whom it is okay to kill and to be killed without breeding an overall culture of violence and lack of compassion for others. In the race to "even things out", the gender neutralists now have thrust male behaviors onto females. So now the girls binge drink, get in brawls, videotape gang beatdowns, and otherwise act like idiots just to sweeten the pot a bit. The only thing that could fix this is a comet.

For those who would disagree, especially if they are not male, consider for a moment being told a million ways from the moment you are a baby:
1. Your sister deserves compassion for her grievances, but you have to suck it up.
2. That woman can hit you, but you can't hit her back or even defend yourself.
3. When she hits you, we will laugh. When you hit her, we will imprison you.
4. Sign on the dotted line so that we can drag you off to a foreign land to be killed over oil. Your sister doesn't have to go though.
5. Oh, the humanity, WOMAN and CHILDREN were killed! If men were killed, meh?

It goes on and on and on...

It is a culture of violence and brutality for males. I know I was brutalized and it turned me into a bit of a scrapper.

What a great post, unfortunately you make alot of sense i never thought about males being disposable but youre right thats what it looks like and importantly thats how it feels!, but i'm a male and i'm not supposed to feel becouse it looks as if i'm homosexual and not a MAN,what we are is human beings and we have choices in life we have the choice to love each other instead of hating people becouse they have crossed us in some way,i might sound religious but i'm not but to love eachother is the only way to extinguish the hatred and bile that governments and media put forward as normality, for instance the only reason that i can see that we have wars around the world is becouse of the US and UK governments selling guns and other arms to despots around the world propogating to our young people this is what you do when you have a dissagreement with someone you shoot them or blow them up!.Your observations regarding how many men and women were killed in 2013 and not giving a fig about men and this offending you,i can understand this everytime that there is some kind of disaster in the world over here in the uk we are told that there were so many british people involved it seems to be sod everybody else if they are not british they don't count,if there is some kind of disaster and human beings perish it's a terrible thing full stop no matter what sex colour or religion.oh and i'm a male and i reject war and governments and individuals who propogate it,did we learn nothing from Gandhi (NVC),non violent communication, this is what i believe we should be teaching young people.

And as usual, nobody gives a damn. It's just the world we live in.

It's not just the parents. It's human nature to bully each other.
When we become adults, we just get more civil in that.
Kids at every school in almost every class around the globe have bullies.
