Co workers and work colleagues aren’t your friends since they are there to do work and not talk all day. I work independently in my sign holder job and have co workers that do the same. I get along with them and have their number and they have my number in case they need something. In my snow shoveling job in winters I work by myself shoveling snow and last and this year I got hired by someone to work at a team shoveling snow for townhouses complexes which is over now and I don’t have the co workers number and only bosses number. So I’m a 31 year old friendless male. I talk to two of my co workers in my sign holder job after work is finished and before work starts and one of them has same interest as me in WWE and video games . Also my sign holder job hires lot of people with mental illness and drug addiction three of them who are in their 40s have adhd, bipolar, panic attacks and I have anxiety and depression along with alcoholism and low iq. I’m getting tested for autism soon. We never hang out after work since some of them are busy after work is done with other jobs.

Whether you can make friends with people at work entirely depends on the job, the people you work with and you.
You can make a friend anywhere, you just have to form a connection with someone and both of you have to be willing to be a friend to the other.

True one of my co worker who is 45 with bipolar and adhd and formally a drug addict is married with two kids and works an other job.

How about before work? I used to meet my one friend for a coffee and/or a breakfast sandwich before our shift started.

We are both still busy people, and working different jobs now. But still make time to grab dinner or meet during our coffee breaks.
