I understand that this may be one of the perks of being a cop...

...but most of the time, it's just paperwork, ******** station politics, and threat of physical harm/death.

This.

Plus, if you get caught speeding in one of those exotic cars you look like a massive hypocrite and lose your job, lol.

I used to know a cop and he basically regretted that career in the end. The newspapers give you **** whatever you do to resolve a situation, people hate you because you're a "pig" and your superiors are always sucking up to their bosses.

He denied promotion several times because he wanted to stay on the streets, and he told me that every new precinct leader would just spend the yearly budget on pointlessly swapping offices around and stuff, so that they could get promoted for being "dynamic" and changing things. Really dumb.

ya,cop work is **** but dam,who get the chance to see all that cars in one place, dam its modded

all that blowers (goo)

airbruss viper,hmmm

when i said "put your foot down"
i didnt meant speeding ,just rewing it

I always think about law enforcement as part of the military. They are defending their nation domestically, while the military is defending their nation abroad.

Well... that's not exactly accurate.

A better analogy would be that the FBI and Secret Service (as well as other federal executive-police organizations) are the ones that protect us domestically, whereas the military (another federal organization) protects us overseas. Your analogy compares a federal organization (military) with a state organization (police).

The federal government (in the U.S.) has no police power in the states, unless the crime committed is a federal crime, or unless the criminal acts across state lines. The clear majority of cops that you'll meet in your daily life will be city and state police. So they're only upholding the laws of whatever particular municipality or state they're from.

There is a clear separation between the military and the police, and for good reason. To consider them the same isn't exactly a correct way of looking at them.

lol

I apologize for getting so in-depth about that... I'm a history/government teacher. ;)
