Lonekiller, I've been thinking a lot today and I wish to share my thoughts with you on this thread. I know I have already posted on this thread but I wish to post further.
I have been to forums where I have not been accepted. The funny thing about forums is that I think they tend to compartmentalize an aspect of yourself and deviations from the norm of the forum (there could be several) are met with what one might call reisistance nd reissitance comes in many forms which are seen as acceptable usually to the mods and the community as a whole. I think this can be said for communities offline as well.
I do not feel rejected here at ALL, but my times here have not always been easy. I've had conflicts with other members and that's been difficult but I've gotten through it the best I can. I think this can be said to be true for relationships offline as well. Conflicts emerge etc.
Let's go to an extreme example okay lonekiller?
I am a curious person and as such, went on a white superemicist forum. I joined it, got to 25 posts. But I was never really liked there even though I tried to suppress any expression of my true beliefs from them due to thinking that their community was an interesting read.
They saw through me though and rejected me. I was banned.
I was rejected because they saw I didn't have racial hatred in my heart like they did. They saw that I had no intention of joining their organization.
I did not fit their norms.
I am not terribly ashamed that I was banned from there or that I was unable to conform. Sometimes not being able to conform is a good thing. Being yourself is not bad, although you might be rejected for it or hazed until you learn to conform. Or third option, people get used to you and you grow on them.
