I used to be quite friendly with the middle aged couple on my right until I overheard them telling another neighbour that I was "another bloody foreigner stealing all the jobs" which is ironic because they’ve never worked a day in their lives. Now they go out of their way to park in front of my window and slam their doors at all hours so I guess my novelty factor has worn off.

As for the rest of the neighbours, I made an effort but since they spend their days sat outside with a can in one hand, a cigarette in the other and hurling insults at anyone who dares to walk down the street I soon gave up.

Always envious of those who get on with their neighbours, mine are great friends to each other but once again I’m the black sheep of another social group. ...

...and I wouldn't have it any other way!

My neighbors aren't all that close to me (not FAR, but not close either) and I don't like people, so no, I don't talk to them. My ex used to, but not me

I don't. I've lived here for about two years now and I have never really spoken to any of my neighbors. I just don't like to initiate conversation and neither do they apparently.

The place I live, as for the neighbors, half are very unpleasant people.. the other half i am not sure, but do not speak to them, because simply that is best.

No. I hate the whole concept of neighbours. I don't see why just because you live near someone, you have to be friendly towards them.

Most of my neighbors here speak a different language, and don't seem to want to talk to me anyway. Which is actually a nice break from where I lived previously, with a super nosy neighbor always coming around and asking me gossipy questions. So yeah, I'm enjoying the peace and quiet here =)

i live in the country and i do have neighbors but everyone has 5 or more acres so they are not right on top of me...everyone is very friendly and we all wave to each other in passing and chat once in a great while but we all pretty much keep to ourselves which i why i moved to the country in the first place...but if i ever need help or just anything i can go to them which is nice...

I live in a barrack block where my neighbours are changing pretty much every week. Not really a lot of point with that turnover rate.

I have 2 very hot neighbors... but I rarely see them. And every time I do I can't come up with anything to say...

I just chat with the guy in the next apartment once in a while... He's nice. Even tough he's too right-wing.

I have lived in the same house for around 18 years - one neighbor that has been in the same house for the last 40 years or so speaks to us normally if mowing grass or something - sometimes, he will bring over a tomato from his garden or get my daughter out of trouble if she needs something repaired - so there could be maybe 20 instances of contact per year that lasts for about 15 minutes or so - the other neighbor has probably been there for at least six years and I do not even know his name - we all keep to ourselves which is great!

I don't even know my neighbors, for at least the past 10 years or so. I do know a couple of them, but never talk to them, becuase I never see them.
