Airplane
As Good as It Gets
Breaking the Waves
Saving Pivate Ryan

One I have to see now... because... suddenly it's been in my face everyday, for like a week now...it's also on ThatOneGuy's list..

Last Life in the Universe (I hope I can find it)

You both have great picks.

Lol I like As Good as It Gets and Saving Private Ryan as well... haven't seen the other two... there are so many great movies it's hard to recall them all... makes me excited just looking for them though :)

Heat was great... loved how they pulled their heists... very creative... plus with Deniro and Pacino in the same movie, you just can't go wrong.

Oh reminds me did I have Ronin in my list... that movie was another favorite

Yeah, Heat is kind of a hallmark, but Ronin is very underrated and sort of forgotten. It's a shame, I think it's radically different (for the better) than most spy flicks.

I agree... I didn't see Ronin till many years after it was out, and nobody had recommended it. I only picked it up because I hadn't seen it before. I was pleasantly surprised with it.

My favourite movies aren't very cutting edge or anything, but here are a few of them:

V for Vendetta, Muriels Wedding, Donnie Darko, The Crow, Sin City, Giant, Anchorman, pretty much every Adam Sandler movie, Gladiator, Saving Private Ryan, Benchwarmers, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Interview with the Vampire, Almost Famous, Pan's Labyrinth, Battle Royale 1 & 2, The Ring (Japanese version), Brotherhood Of the Wolf, Never Been Kissed (I'm NOT Josie Grossy anymore!!).

Well, thats a few of them anyway. Hey, I'm an insomniac, I have lots of time for movies =¬P

It's hard to pick just one but here's a few of my favourites:

Downfall, Ghost, Coming To America, Death Becomes Her, The Devil Wears Prada, Alive, The Pianist, The Colour Purple and all of the Jurassic Park's.

"An old man dies. A young girl lives. A fair trade. I love you, Nancy."

"Walk down the right back alley in Sin City, and you can find anything"

Great movie Red^^^^^^^^^^^:) !!

"I Ought to be in Pictures" (1982) (the last 10 minutes :) !)
[/quote]

Hey CK,

Isn't Sin City just beautiful to watch? Everything about it is just so striking, from the way its shot, to the actors and actresses. The hints of colour, the interweaving stories, its just breath-taking.

I'm gonna be adding to my original list I think, I missed SOOO many out!

For me it's a tie between The Empire Strikes Back and the BBC's version of Pride & Prejudice. On the one hand you have the ongoing epic battle between good and evil, and on the other you have Colin Firth. Oh, Colin Firth. Wait, did I say it was a tie? Scratch that- it's totally Pride & Prejudice. Conventional, I know, but come on. It's Colin Firth.

Whats your favorite movie

One? That would be hard to pick. Maybe "The Fisher King".

I can never ever be able to pick a favorite but a few that I can watch over and over that have left a great impression on me are...

Naked (Mike Leigh)
Stroszek (Werner Herzog)
Eraserhead (David Lynch)
Gummo (Harmony Korine)
Buffalo '66 (Vincent Gallo)
Scum (Alan Clarke)
Dead Ringers (David Cronenberg)
Dead Man (Jim Jarmusch)

I can name a bunch more but I'll stop here since most of the ones listed are ones I watch a few times a year. There are more but I might edit this list later. Maybe, maybe not.

In no real order...

Good Will Hunting
Saving Private Ryan
The Usual Suspects
The Shawshank Redemption
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
Die Hard
The Sixth Sense
Momento
The Basketball Diaries
Cube
Pulp Fiction
Fight Club
North by Northwest
Underworld 1&2
LA Confidential
Braveheart
The Notebook
Kill Bill 1&2
Terminator 1&2

Hmm my list is getting longer and longer. I will have to end it here. :p

Here's what I have listed in the movies section of the two social networking sites I visit from time to time: Dr Strangelove, Gattaca, Citizen Kane, Oh Brother Where Art Thou?, 2001, First Contact, Good Night and Good Luck, Waking Life.
