Watching the original Dexter series prompted me to ask this because I can't friggin' stand Dexter's sister Debra. She is sooooo whiney, childish, needy, overly foul-mouthed and unacceptably unprofessional. I know it's the nature of TV shows to be full of silly little errors that make us frown at times, but I don't know if the producers really asked for the actress to behave so inanely or whether it's her personality shining through, but I can't stand her. Do you have screen characters that rub you the wrong way?

Yes, have a few actually. Out of all my favorite shows, here are a few characters who annoy me.

Yellowstone - Jamie: Passive-aggressive, whiny, and weak.

The Walking Dead - Beth: Kid-like and boring.

American Horror Story - Siohban: Superficial and annoying.

Chicago Fire - Gabby: Drama queen and annoying.

Sons of Anarchy - Tara: Boring

Sistas - Karen: Dramatic and whiny.

I've yet to see the show because I'm not sure I'd like it. Seems too slow-going at first. I'd be surprised if I didn't, because I love things based on serial killers, etc.

I don't think it's slow going at all. I find it rather captivating, even if some of the acting (especially the background extras) is cringey lol
My sister told me about the show a long time ago, and I tried to watch it, but the first 15-20 minutes weren't peaking my interest, so ended up shutting it off. Sometimes, I have to watch a full episode to see otherwise. Another issue for me, is that Dexter isn't sultry enough to fit his role, which can also make it boring.

I've given a few series a few episodes before I decide, like Shameless for example, which wasn't bad.

"Sultry"? lol Okay, but I think he's suited pretty well. I think what's captivating about a serial killer is their ingenuity.

Yes, there have been a couple of series where I had to watch a full episode before making decisions. I've only seen the very first episode of both "Shameless" and "The Sopranos" and was hooked. I know I have to continue watching them, but I don't have access to either of them right now.

As far as a serial killer goes, I'm intrigued by their entire mindset. The fact that a serial killer is handsome and intriguing, makes it that much more interesting. Yes, I have a twisted mind, lol.

Diane Chambers (Shelly Long) on Cheers always annoyed me. I guess that means she's a good actress.
The Sofia Vergara character on Modern Family annoys the h*ll out of me. But I don't think she's a good actress.

I don't even like that show, but know what you mean, not a fan of her, and she's very whiny.

I completely forgot about Season 12 and wondered who Siobhan was. Now that I remember, I agree: Siobhan was not a great character.

She played it well for the most part, but she was annoying with her whiny and entitled attitude, just like her real life self (Kim Kardashian) is one of the most annoying people in the industry.

Hmm, that just reminded me. The funny thing is, with regards to books, I've grown to like it when a character annoys me. I like how a book can bring out different emotions in me. I credit the author for being able to do that. I'm not sure why it's different for screen actors.

Oh...I forgot.
Maude!
Most annoying TV character ever!

And the wife (played by Merrill Streep) in Kramer vs Kramer.
Most annoying movie character ever!
Really any role Merrill Streep plays annoys me.
Not a Streep fan here...

You should watch Griselda, she's good in that.

Gabrielle from Xena Warrior Princess always annoyed me in the earlier seasons.
