[/quote]]Hey everyone
I wonder if it's me or is it normal for foreign students to feel lonely. I mean I have been living in Kansas city for a year now and I have no friends yet. I tried talking to people in class but the next day they don't even say hi. So I stopped but my boyfriend and i recently broke up and I feel really lonely since he was the only person I could hang out with. I don't know what to do.

Hey perle. I understand what you mean. I'm a foreign student in Scotland. I come from Belgium. It's very difficult for me to make friends. My parents tell me that it is normal, that there is a transition and an adaptation that have to be made. However some days are really difficult. I feel sometimes terribly lonely. Since I registered, I have seen many people here feeling the same way. So don't be too worried about it. You seem to be open and nice. Sometimes great things ask for patience. I take my loneliness as a possibility to learn to know more things about me and what I want. You should just continue to be open to new people and take the time you have to spend alone to think about your life. And if after a crappy day you feel really blue, just contact me. I'll be happy to chat with you.
