Forum needs promoting.

This forum needs more users.

I am sure it used to be busier? And I know there are hundreds of thousands of millions of lonely people.

How can we promote it?

How do you get stuff higher up in searches on google? I suppose people could promote it on blogs, twitter, etc.

When promoting the forum on blogs and twitter and whatever, you have to remember that you have a higher chance of getting trolls that only come to torment and make fun of people. Not to mention the spammers. As for Google, most of the people that are here found the forum from a Google search.

This isn't really a site to be promoted. And it's not because it's a horrible site; It's not. I think it's nice many people can find some helpful advice here. But something that's essentially directed towards people who feel lonely or may feel like they don't really want a whole lot going on, just wanting some help with some issues... To promote this site would mean it would be even more open to those who either look down on the topics of this forum or who don't truly understand. And I think to display this site in such a popular fashion such as Facebook or Twitter is really defeating one of the most basic purpose of this forum.

Sometimes they do. Others border right on the edge and know where the line is and don't cross it. Also, how many insulting trolls do you think it takes for a person with self esteem issues or anything else to feel defeated?

Some people aren't to the point where they need a forum of this nature. Some are embarrassed to come. This forum has been maintaining itself, as is, for almost a decade. I think it's doing just fine the way it is. If people need this forum, they can find it. As all of us here now already have.

I think that if someone wants to find a place like this, they will easily find us. The forum comes up for tons of search terms involving loneliness.
