mods kill trolls. Lots of lonly people do not know this is here I rekon. or tehy are all on otehr forums. And I am confortable with this one. I don't want to migrate therefore they should come here.

You're comfortable here, and that's great. But just because someone knows about something doesn't mean they'll join. No one's going to make you migrate anywhere you don't want to be, so you can't possibly expect anyone else to join just because you're comfortable here. It's not up to you if someone else decides to join or not join. Besides, you could just as easily join another site, but you choose not to, and that's fine.

This forum doesn't need promoting. Scroll down the home page to "board statistics" and see how many members we have. Granted, many are inactive but it's quite easy to find us on search engines. Also, there are far more unregistered lurkers than there are members on the forum at any one time.
There are slow times and busy times on the forum, it probably just depends on the time of year and how many hot topics are being discussed.

May I suggest that name-calling is counter-productive to what you are wishing for - it is name-calling and general bad manners that have driven me off other forums that may have otherwise been good places. So please lay off the insults.

I think I understand what James meant, and that he just worded it too aggressively. Sometimes having people to talk with helps, but I dont think that it's a matter of numbers. I think that even if this forum gets way more members it wouldn't change the fact that a lot of people don't open up, that a lot of people are introverted and prefer to lurk than to post, and just read the threads, hoping they can find what they need. I'm not blaming them or saying it's a bad thing, I do is as well sometimes, read threads and never post as Im not in a mood to share.

Im fairly new to this community, but I've noticed that the people I've met or just read stuff from so far, actually want/need to be here, that these forums are actually helping them. TBH, I think it's better to have 10 members like that, than 100 that are here just cause they're bored and got nothing else to do than troll etc

My reasons for wanting it promoted is that I am sure there is another lonly person somewhere near me. And it seems very silly us both sitting here alone and depressed. I am wanting a mechanism for lonley people to come together offline.
