Cockroaches are one of the few insects to be necrophiles. If the mother dies in the nest, or anyone else, the newly hatched ones will proceed to eat the corpse. Therein lies how to exterminate them if you develop a problem; use a slow acting poison that the fully developed adults will ingest, so that they die in the nest. The young will eat the corpse, ingest the poison, die as well.
A mixture of sugar and borax will do the trick, placed in strategic locations around the supposed nest location and their habitual food or water source.
