There actually is a way to fix this without duct tape or buying a new hose.
You can use brass fittings and two clamps.

Oh, Shipster I wish I had your creative streak but I think you are far more 'DIY-inclined' than I am, lol. No wonder your house project is going so well! I believe I will heed Eve, Raab and Sci-Fi's advice and just grab a new one. Although I was blessed with many talents, none of them include oil/tire changes, home repair or anything involving creepy crawly handling or disposal.

But as a parting gift, it might interest you to know that as I was leaning over the hose to turn on the faucet, there were three big spurts of water that sprayed directly over my face, neck and chest. I was wearing a white t-shirt.
