Let-down after let-down by people who I thought were friends of mine have made me lose the little bit of faith in human nature that I did once have.

I need it restoring somehow. Any ideas?

Don't let these so called "Friends" make you bitter. I know that it hurts, but some things in life are the way they are. Do your best to put it behind you. Everyone has had "Friends" like this.

Summon your courage and never give up. Never try too hard to make friends. Always be yourself. If others don't like you for you, then **** 'em.

Do things in life that you enjoy. Things that will make you proud of yourself. When you begin to respect and feel proud about yourself, it will draw others to you.

A long time ago, possibly back in in my Probability and Statistics course in high school, I learned that my friends don't count as a decent sample for the entire human population. I'm entirely certain that there will be people better and worse than the people I currently know. The important thing is to constantly be on the look-out for people you want to keep around you and then hold onto 'em tight. If someone betrays your trust, shake it off, 'cause there's over 6 billion people on the planet. It's really easy not to give a **** about old conflicts when you meet someone new.

Try this one CAS,

Last week The Kid decided to have a lemonade stand. The night before she went to every neighbor in our small village with a handmade flyer letting them know that she was having the lemonade stand. EVERY neighbor came by and some twice. Lots of nice tips as well.

To make this even more meaningful one of my daughters friends came by earlier in the day and The Kid asked her friend to stay and help. The Kid had already made the cookies and lemonade the night before- the hard stuff was done. After the sale The Kid split the $24.00 she made right down the middle with her friend- I'm always proud of her but that moment was amazing.

I didn't have the heart to ask if I got my $6 bucks in change back for her float in her "till".....
