I am writing a science fiction novel as we speak, any particular reason as to why you didn't go for it?

Is it laziness?
Is it depression?
Is it apathy?

Don't give up.

Somewhere there exists a collection of SF stories written by authors
vng1987 -- vng1992. That collection is in our basement -- it is not lost.

Hopefully, I can -- especially in the Age of Internet Technology.

Are there any forums for writers?

So whats stopping you right now ? from sitting there on a day off work and just writing, do some short stories

Yep. I may or may not have a published and praised novel at 30 (I'm more likely to have a small collection of published short stories), but it's a work in progress. You write, you analyze, you learn, you revise, you try new things. Getting knocked around a bit seems inevitable.

There are plenty of forums out there that have fanfiction sections where people can post their stories.

I am sooooooo lazy -- I am not even sure I can write a whole story.

What do you write about?

How short? How big is the readership base?
