If Only...

If only there was the purest-of-hearts kind of king.

If only he decreed that all his subjects would have to embrace one another's fears and trepidations.

If only people's jobs were - waking up every morning seeking out a source for their happiness. They would get all the food in the world, all shelter they would need, all their needs would be met, if only they found a daily decadent adventure that would shine a hopeful ray of light on at least one more stranger.

If only our bodily energy depended on actively employing all mental and emotional faculties of the mind and heart to send a jolt of joy and grace onto those around us. Strangers whose sole purpose on this land would be - rummaging through the clutter in their hectic minds, finding fodder for the lonely, for the weary, for the angry, for the love-starved.

If only...

You know, there is a king who has decreed that we love him and love others. And though the present world has fallen in this regard, the future new world and life we call heaven is awaiting those who want to be a part of it.

@ TerminallyClueless: Life isn't always going to be fair. Actually, it isn't fair lots of the time. I think how we respond to the sometimes unfairness defines who we are. A realistic thing to know is what we have some control over or what we're able to influence the outcome of. Because some things are out of our control. We need to understand what we're able to do.
Can any of us save the world? I don't think I can and neither can anyone whom I know. But we can make some things better........in those zones where we have the......OK, the power.....to control and influence the outcome.
Focus on that. You want a better world? Make your own part of it a little bit better. That may just be as good as it's going to get.
