Ignore list not working?

I only have 1 person on my ignore list at this time.
Strangely enough this person can still send me messages.
I blocked her on October 19th, and to my surprise I got another message about 45 minutes ago.
It says "show blocked content" but if I do that the only comment that is supposed to be blocked is the one you can read without unblocking it.
(I covered the part where it shows the user's name, as this is not appreciated on this site.
I'm surprised she can still send me stuff, and that I see the messages even though the content is supposed to be blocked.

Never used it, but I think ignore is just for posts, and probably why you still get the option to view the message (if it's working?).

The only option I can see is to stop conversations (messages) all together, in the privacy options.

So you have follow people then in order to be able to receive a message. Hmm, seems a bit drastic then.
I only have 1 person like that for the moment, and I have had several very nice conversations here.

Actually if using ignore you should not get a private conversation. If you did get one it sounds as if the content was hidden.
Is that correct?

What happened was this:

1) I had a private conversation with someone here.
2) Her messages got less friendly after a while, so I put her on the ignore list
3) Suddenly, weeks later I get another message within this same private message thread.
The message has a 'hidden' part because I put her on the ignore list, but if I click the word to show me the hidden part, this is empty.
The "Get a life" is perfectly visible, I guess this part should have been hidden.

Did you ask/tell her to not send you PMs anymore?
That usually works -- if the other person is reasonable, anyway...

Well, I told her I didn't want her to send me any messages anymore, and I also told her she was on my ignore list.
But if the other person would be reasonable, she would not have gotten on my ignore list in the first place.
