Just saying hello

This is my “hello” post. I’m new here. I’m both lonely (duh) and alone, and aware of the difference.

I’m not actually here to talk about that though. I mean, there’s not much to say about it is there? I’m here hoping to find people to chat with and get to know a little. Is it a very active forum? Is there a “live chat room” or similar (edit: nvm I found it)? Are there people who have been here for years or is it a come-and-go kind of place?

Basic info about me:
Male, 44. British, currently living in Yorkshire. Latte lover/addict. Bit of a nerd when it comes to things like astrophysics and video games. No friends or partner and not really looking for either, but it would be nice to have some conversation in my life.

I studied in English language school and UOL. My current EPL team is Liverpool FC.

Hi Adrian. I’ll admit I know nothing about SE Asia. I thought Kuala Lumpur was the name of those little orange men in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. But it’s nice to meet you regardless! Your English seems excellent, did you live in any English speaking countries on your travels?
