that's not the way to do it by hurting your health. I don't care if smoking makes you feel better about yourself, that's like a guy goes eating ice-cream when he's depressed because he'll feel better by it tastes. That way has never been a solution.
I'll give you my very honest recommendation that will get you to a better state; you can't meet a lover/date (boy/girl-friend)in this condition you're in. If it was so bad, then you can't even meet or talk to a regular friend or mate. In the second case, you' might have to let it out by seeing a psychiatrist and talk to 'em till they get bored as sh*t.
Now, please don't let yourself alone that often, who do you know? ask if they'll be somewhere tonight, go there just stay with them. Nice people will not reject a simple request like "what're you guys doing tonight? may I be there with you?"
Do this for 5 times, with regular even boring mates, no need for potential lovers- no dates.
This will get you out of your down state, and will let your true personality comes once again, and people will love it and then even love to be around you for sure.
--- marigold, I' think I was in almost exact place where you tell us you are. Get yourself out, get your personality back.
For the mean time, do stuff that will let you smoke less, I wish I know what type of cigarettes you're using, don't use a cheap one. Try change for a lighter one, that won't feel burn in the throat.
(I wish you're not using that made-in-indonisia thin/light black type that all emos use, it's light and looks cool, but freaking burn the heck out of my throat!! lol
