How are you doing? How has your year been? 🤗

More importantly how have you been? It’s a real pleasure to talk to you again because I missed you last year.

I am doing ok. Just getting by every day and that’s about it.

My year has been fine except for the World Series.

I am sorry to disappoint you and TropicalStarfish. That wasn't my intention.

I actually had to go back and read what I wrote and all I said about her was that she was "self absorbed." i would bet that if she was around right now there is a good chance she would agree.

i really do hope she returns here in 2025 because she is a person whether you like her or not kept the forum going with her variety of topics. I would suggest that if anyone has contact with her away from here to encourage her to return.

I don't know if @TropicalStarfish was actually disappointed.

I think he was just making a joke about Seinfeld, since Festivus is tomorrow (I think, according to the lore).

Anyway. It's clear that you are trying to get better this time.
There will probably be some steps backward along the way, I know that's how it is for me, too.
But as long as you're sincere about getting better, and you're going forward overall, I think you'll be alright.
Keep up the good work (y)

Yeah, maybe not. Although I am still trying to figure out how he knows me. I don't talk to a lot of people here.

I am sincere and thank you very much.

Dude you’re not being honest; you also called her your thorn in your side, that she had to justify herself with attention and that she had no class. Please stop downplaying your condemnation of her. That thorn in the side award is just dumb, but I’ll be happy to wear it next time if it makes you rethink your next year’s return.

Planning for the big day

Ok, I may be exaggerating slightly but I do have to plan things out tomorrow to avoid the frustration of a lot of people and long lines. It is my intent to go to the aptly named Foodland tomorrow at 6:00 a.m. so I can get what I need and then go home. It’s a short list. Crab meat, shrimp, rye bread, cereal and beer. Root beer that is. I don’t drink alcohol and I’ve never had the taste for it. But at the same time I can hold my root beer.

Christmas Eve and day are not the same for me with both of my parents gone. To compare my Christmases today to the ones when I was a kid would be very unfair. But of course that’s what usually ends up happening.

But that will be enough about that because what this post is also about is for me hoping that wherever you are in the world be it in Europe, Canada, North or South America, Mexico, Asia, Australia or New Zealand I hope that no matter how you celebrate Christmas that it is a very good one. It is amazing that on this website there are people from all these places and that right there makes this place special.

Have a good Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Neither here nor there, but I know what a 'jar of cake' is bc of Ceno. She said she brought one to her neighbor once and have thought of this gesture multiple times over the years, would certainly call it classy.

So you are telling me that because you found out what a "jar of cake" is you think that...oh hold up. I'm not finishing this at all.

Come on man. Don't do it. Forwards, not backwards.

Oh I am and I will plan on doing so. I don't know who this person is and obviously they joined when it was one of my times away from here. I am also curious to what a jar a cake is because it seems to me that is the last thing you want to put a cake in.

But Good Lord people, THINK. She gave someone cake. Maybe because they were sick or maybe to celebrate something. I think it is a very nice thing to do no matter the situation. But at the same time haven't many people in here and people you know in real life done the exact same thing?

You can make cake in a mug too. In the microwave. I never have, but I heard you can. 😂

Oh, and welcome back again. 👋 Hope you had a nice Christmas.

I guess you just don't want to learn this lesson......
And what lesson is that? I didn't put her down at all here. I said it was a nice thing to do and that was it. Stop trying to analyze every word I say. If she was around here right now I'd ask her three questions. How her surgery went, if she had a nice 2024 and what a jar of cake is because I am curious. I can and will be civil towards her and that will be that. I do not have to exist on this forum by being her friend and visa versa but I can and will be respectful.

No, people just don't do that anymore. Hell, I don't even know my neighbors.
You're right, maybe not. When I was a kid people brought over chicken soup when someone got out of the hospital or pastries for some kind of celebration. But yes, that tradition has died down.

You can make cake in a mug too. In the microwave. I never have, but I heard you can. 😂
Yeah, a microwave brownie!

Oh, and welcome back again. 👋 Hope you had a nice Christmas.

Thank you and it is a pleasure to see you in here too. Yes I had a nice holiday and I hope you did too.

Ok. then you were here when I was a year-round member. I remember everything in this forum.

All right, now I am caught up.

A fast one again

I have less than a week left here and again my time has been flying by. I will either leave after I wrap things up on New Year’s Day or I will wait until the 2nd to run out of of town.

I thought the Christmas card exchange would happen this year and I really hope it takes place next year. The reason why is that it brought people closer together here in the forum and it seemed like it was a nice thing to be a part of. In the past it was started up in November because cards had to go out all over the world. I can’t take part in it because I am not here in November along with one other reason.

Amy I have not seen anyone around here that has a coffee machine that you have since wherever I go I see Keurig machines except of course Seattle’s Best. I go there on occasion for coffee but not a lot. The workplace coffee has a Keurig machine but ironically I do not have coffee there.

I got to say something before I lose my nerve. I’m grateful for the whole bunch of you.

Ok. At least five days left. Take care.

I do declare, that your presence be requested on each Solstice. Winter Solstice and Summer Solstice. Starting the first week before the Solstice, for two weeks. Perhaps, where-upon, you might endeavor to make one new friend/acquaintance; though it shall not be strictly necessary to do so.

Just a thought heh, come 'round a couple times a year.

You know what, I agree.

The more @BeyondShy comes around, the more acclimatized to this place he can be.

The less there will be growing pains. It could be a good thing.
