Trigger Warning: What are some of your OCD's you suffer with? We all have different things. That's if you're comfortable talking about them. I can talk about mine as they don't bother me. Most of my family has OCD to a degree. People think it's funny to mess with someone who has it, but little do they know how debilitating it can be for the sufferer. It doesn't bother me, but others will go into a fit of rage over things. My uncle is a prime example.

Here are some of mine:
  1. When I read a book, if I noticed I've skipped a couple of words, I have to go back a few times to reread. Then, I'll tell myself enough is enough and I'm sure I've read it by now, and to just move on. But, it doesn't always happen this way, and will have to reread it several times until it sinks in.
  2. I tend to buy more than is needed, and it's often in 3's and 4's.
  3. I buy a lot of the same black and white piece of clothing as they're worn the most, and like to have backups for when the ones I'm wearing, ware out. But, with white, I'm extreme, because I fear I'm going to get it dirty, but want to wear it, and stay extremely bright white at all times.
  4. I'm an extremely organized person and everything has a space. I like things to be facing each other for the most part, but if a couple aren't, I won't freak out, but it might bother me until it's fixed.
  5. When writing or typing, things have to be perfect, and if they're not, I have redo the entire thing over. Whiteout doesn't cut it, because I don't like the "paint" on the paper, as it's not as white and professional looking at the original.
  6. I'm a Grammar Nazi, and although I do make mistakes, I try to go back and correct them if I do. Sometimes when we're in a rush, we don't think about it so much, but I'm a perfectionist with such things.
  7. Perfectionism doesn't exist, but for the longest time it did in my mind and drove me crazy. I had to get away from that obsessive thought process.
  8. I don't like dirty feet. I'm obsessed with keeping my feet clean at all times of the day, especially in summertime when I wear flip flops. I always have to wash my feet. I'll be out and about, and have to stop somewhere just to wash my feet. I don't go to bed with dirty feet either, even the slightest bit of dirt will freak me out. If someone comes over and their feet are dirty, I cringe, but I won't allow someone in my bed with dirty feet, that's for sure!

I don't think I "suffer", because I don't get all crazy if it's not done, and I've learned to become quite a bit more relaxed about my over-neatness since having kids ( i can literally ignore certain messes now, although I'd probably be quite neat again if I had my own place) but

1. I always straighten and level bath towels and tea towels when others in the house leave then every which way
2. I straighten wall hangings too
3. And floor mats
4. Also place mats on the dining table
5. I'm very good at packing cars, or my camper trailer, or even suitcases. I have Tetris packing skills
6. I try to keep things orderly and make a place for everything (i have a very neat mans shed)
7. I maintain a household budget program
8. My bookshelf is very much organised, as is my music and photo collection
9. I like symmetry, or very chaotic images.

That's all that comes to mind at the moment. I'm sure my kids would nominate a dozen other things.

Hmm I've done that quite a few times

Yep, and thankfully it's so much easier on a computer. I had awful handwriting, but I was fast

I wouldn't say I'm a grammar nazi, as I've had to change with the digital messaging world to accept so many of the abbreviations etc, even though it's confusing at times, but I do get picky when people use the wrong words eg arrogant/ignorant or write in a way that isn't clear, ambiguous, inadvertantly misleading, and I feel I need to get them to elaborate or clarify, which most of the time they just don't.

Not a fan of dirty feet indoors, but I won't bother to wash my feet if I'm outside and know they'll be getting more dirty in another moment, except if there's something annoying sticking to my feet. I've mentioned in another thread that I've actually got really nice feet for a guy and a guy my age. Good genes.

I also reread things and used to be a grammar nazi, but now that I'm older and dumber I've learned to let it go. The perfectionism is still there to a degree though. If I see a spelling mistake it sticks out to me like a squashed bug.

I notice things even slightly out of place in my house...

I also frequently wash my hands throughout the day, which I think is the one OCD trait that has served me well over the years, as I haven't been sick with even so much as a cold in years. Even during Covid I knew people who got sick, but not me.

I also don't touch anything outside my house without mittens on. I keep a pair in each car for when I have to get gas. Looks odd in summer though...lol.

I could never have kids because they are messy and I have OCD over messes. A big hurdle for me was getting a dog. Had to get a hypoallergenic one that doesn't shed, but I did get over some things that initially bothered me, such as dog nose prints in my car. Now I've swung the opposite way and my car is so full of dog marks and nose booger prints on the windshield to the point where my mechanic cleaned it for me as a courtesy! There's even booger prints on my dash from my dog shaking his head and the snot flies everywhere in winter :)

I live for my dog...

Yours is the most interesting one I've read that resembles OCD the most. That's funny about the dog.
