Hello everyone, just doing the ritual of introducing myself. I hope I'm not too old for this.
Anyway, story is, I just got out of prison 5 months ago and am struggling with life.. getting a job/doing business especially and also making friends. I hope I don't come about as too strong when I say I just 'got out' but I'm trying to start anew and I was reading some of the threads in here and noticed that people were very truthful or at least seem to be so I thought I'd follow suit.
I've had QUITE A LIFE, seriously; sometimes I wonder how I pulled through all the 29 years of abuse and isolation.. yes.. I'm a typical lone ranger, that's why I'm happy I found this site. I'm really hoping to meet new friends (note:I'm harmless), to hear your stories and even share my stories slowly. post me.

Welcome Lone Ranger. I hope you find that you are able to re-enter society and are able to be a productive member of it. Don't give up.

Welcome! I just joined today, and I was on my way to make my own introduction thread. I thought I'd stop by and replay to yours first though. :)

First of all, let me say... Congrats on getting out. ^-^ I can't imagine how difficult it would be to start life anew. I hope you'll like it here though. I've been looking through the forum all day, just reading threads and trying to get a good picture of what this place is like. Seems like a good forum to be on. :)

How does it feel to be out? :) And don't worry about coming about strong with the phrase "got out". I've had plenty of family members that have been in various jails and prisons. I'm not proud of admitting that though. :( But I know that it wouldn't be fair for me to judge, so... I won't judge. :)

I wish you luck on finding a job! These are tough times, so it's going to be hard for anyone. I myself need to find a job. :\

Anyways! It's nice to meet you. :) Why not share some of your interests? Anything you like to do on your spare time? Any hobbies or favorite tv shows?

Hi y'all,

I really appreciate the advice SophiaGrace. Are you still studying or working? I looked up some of your posts.. you're a really interesting character. It's cool to be able to chat with people who are understanding.

Welcome to you too Sira, nice to meet you too. First of all I have to say, you have quite a unique name; Is it your real name or is it just your nick? What does it mean?

Well, I feel a gush of freedom now that I'm out. If you've ever driven on the highway, opened the car windows and feel the air gushing on your face and through your hair, knowing that there are just no limits to where you can go.. the world is yours.. no more walls, that's how it feels like. That's actually what I like to do sometimes when I want to release tension, just take my car and hit the highway.

You can find a job for yourself Sira but I'd suggest you spend more of your time studying the thing you REALLY have a lot of passion for and make sure it suits you. I made the mistake of taking up architecture coz what I didn't know about myself was that my eyes get dangerously blurry when I have to sit in front of the laptop for too long and in this field you gotta do this 9 to 5 and sometimes up to 2am. It's crazy. If Nursing is what you want to do, I hope you become the best nurse, just don't go nursing in war zones:D unless you're really up for it.

Well truth is money is the only thing on my mind now coz I need it to survive and it hasn't been easy. I can't go back to architecture, coz I'm blacklisted so my only option is to do my own business. I'd really like to talk about it.. maybe y'all can give me some advice, hopefully it'll get me out of this depression rut.

I understand you like playing Xbox live but I'm not actually clear about how it works. What do you watch on it?

From time to time, I like to watch rugby on youtube.. my favourite sport (I'd like to show a really entertaining vid from youtube but I'm not sure how to do it.. I'll show it once I figure it out).

Do you have a favourite sport or sport you like to watch? What about you SophiaGrace? How do you past your time?

And good day to you to Poguesy, come join us.

I'm gonna add y'all to my buddy list and thanx for the warm welcome.

Hey Apprentice, hope things are well with you. I've been out of prison since May, 2008, and, believe it or not, there are still times when I want to go back in. Strange, I know, but it is what it is. I just can't get past the loneliness of life on the outside. No one to lean on and no one to lean on me, except here in these forums. So, stay connected, and good luck to ya...............

Hey IgKido, I'm surviving, hope you're good. It's comforting to know there are others who have gone through what I have in here. But I think you should remove the thought of ever wanting to go back. You're not missing the free food now are you :D. Just think of the freedom of movement you have now that you can never get inside. How old are you? How are you with your parents/siblings if you have any? If you ever feel lonely, just know that you now have a new buddy you can chat with  Just don't let that negative mindset cave in.. Maybe you should try skype. I'd like to do that but I haven't figured out how to do it yet. What were you in for? PM me if you don't feel comfortable making it public.
