you have more patience than I. I can't stand to watch grown adults act as if policy that will affect the lives of millions of people like its a f---ing game. Sad state of affairs. What a mess of a world we live in.
I was quite disheartened by it, as well.. For me, though: it was worth the watch. Nobody I know in my real life, had actually seen the full meeting, or was willing to, upon my suggestion. And despite this, their minds were quite made about it..

I think their minds were made about it before the meeting ever happened. Which is part of why I want nothing to do with politics. Sadly, I can't get away from them because my job often throws them at me and my political science nut of a son also throws them at me.
I obviously have my own opinions, but I don't align myself with either side. Both sides are doing a piss poor job of it and they seem to be more about doing "better" than the other side to actually do what's right for America.

From my angle as a foreigner, I can tell you it was probably the biggest international embarrassment in US's history in a long time. Sure, they've made mistakes and have committed questionable if not outright abhorrable actions in the past (stuff like wikileaks & others) ; but they've always kept a clean and mannered demeanor about it when publicly addressing anything. Unlike what Trump and his associates did that day to the president of a war ridden country, whch in some ways, is fighting a proxy war for the US as much as it is protecting its own.

That's kind of the good and bad with trump. The good news is he puts an ugly face on the ugly policies the US engages in, which activates everybody from their slumber. The bad news is his stupid antics destroy whatever semblance of dignity we have as a nation to the rest of the world. And that's a big problem in this country, because this undereducated, poorly informed, willfully ignorant populace is SO ignorant to what the rest of the world thinks of them. They have no idea how much laughter is inspired across the world when an American postulates that this hellhole is "ThE GrEaTeSt CoUnTrY iN ThE WoRld!!!" And I really wished they did. They wouldnt be so susceptible to nationalism if they knew how fragile their projected image was.
