I had a girlfriend maybe 5 years ago that ticked every box as far as being my ideal match and soul mate. She was fantastic in everyway. At the time we were both working hard and just stopped seeing each other. It was totally stupid as we both loved each other, and there was no logical reason to break up. After five months or so of not seeing each other, she was seeing another guy but still gave me the chance to come back and get married etc. Dumb pride prevented me from agreeing to it, and I fooled myself into thinking I was better off and happier leading the single life.

Worst mistake I ever made. She is now married and with a child, so there is no going back and starting again. I respect her too much to even talk to her because I want her to be happily married and have a great life.

Lesson learnt: When you have someone very special, give them as much attention as possible and don't let them go.

I wish more people learned that... Seems all too often, great things just slip away for no great reason.

My biggest regret is not one single situation, but its all the missed opportunities I've made myself pass up. I'm still trying to learn from it.
